Bizarre experience. Visited the shop to have a look at some second hand 90s Japanese Yamahas and was told they don't provide that service. Told I was to check what they have on the website and come back. I said that's not a problem I'm happy to look on my own. Was not allowed to look at any of the pianos in the shop. So we had to go home. Weird... Also I noticed all their 5 star reviews are from people who only have 1 review...Response to the response: I knew exactly what I wanted and the exact price range. I wanted to see first hand the stock you had, but you refused entry for some unknown reason and were rude. I went to the nearby supermarket and self checked out a Japanese made Yamaha. You just lost yourself a customer.

I just purchased a baby grand piano for my wife for her 60th Birthday. I bought it from Balmain Piano Services, after they were highly recommended to me by my piano tuner in Newcastle. They made it very comfortable for me to purchase the piano with the option of renting it after 6 months and if I decide to buy it they would deduct the rent money off the price. Highly recommend them if you need to purchase a piano, they are trustworthy and reliable. Thank you! For such a great service.

When I bought a refurbished Yamaha C3E grand from them, they were very friendly and helpful. They provide a complementary tuning after 3 months of purchase. The piano sounds beautiful and I enjoy playing it.I noticed some people complained that they didn't let you walk in and browse different pianos. I agree with the disappointment but I think this is the way they run their business. If you know what kind of piano you want, make an appointment with them and they will accomodate you.

I had been looking for an entry-level grand for a while when Balmain brought in a beautiful Yamaha C3 6-foot grand. Visiting was via appointment with Antonia, who was very communicative. Antonia and Bernard get on well with serious buyers, so the fact that I knew what I wanted to try and what I wanted to play was helpful, as Bernard could tell me all about the piano I was interested in. The second time I visited I was given free reign to play as much as I wanted, which was much needed to convince myself this is the piano I wanted... The piano sounded and felt better than any other second-hand C3 I had tried before, despite its age of 30+ years, it was in very good condition, and was at what I thought was a fair price. One year on, I'm very happy with this piano which feels and sounds great. Overall, Antonia and Bernard were very good to work with, I'm very happy with the purchase, and if you are a serious piano buyer this should probably be one of the first places you visit.
