My kids have had 9-10 bats made by Josh. JP Gavan is a great Australian story- a hard working young guy making hand crafted products. The bats are superb, pick your willow and then they are made exactly to order. Super reliable bat repairs as well. He seems to do repairs for all the top Australian players that live in Sydney. If you are lucky, you might see Steve Smith’s bats at the shop! Here are the latest bats we purchased- 2 pound 7, short handles. Absolute beauties.

Josh has set up a fantastic business in his garage at Tamarama. He is a friendly person and is outstanding at bat repairs and also sells high quality cricket equipment. He also supports local clubs and cricket businesses.

A really great place to get a cricket bat custom made. Josh takes you through the whole process, from the ideal weight to where you want the middle to also how the handle should be. And then he makes the bat right in front of you.Prices are very reasonable for the quality of willow you get and the labour that goes into making the bat.I highly recommend this place if you are looking for getting a new bat for cricket. You can also pick up pads and gloves.

I reached out to Josh to make me a bat a little over a year ago, in that time he's made me an additional 2 bats - they've been my favourite sticks ever. His attention to detail and knowledge for what will work for me as a cricketer is second-to-none. I've also got a pair of pads and gloves from Josh, and since using his gear (with my less than stellar cricketing ability) I've lost the excuse of blaming my equipment for my lack of runs.
