Fi Wilkie Art @ Toot Studio

Having never before even attempted collage, but being in awe of Fi Wilkie's beautiful artworks featuring native flora and birds, I was a bit hesitant about signing up for one of her popular collage workshops in Fremantle.I need not have worried! It was such an enjoyable and fulfilling day, and I surprised myself at what I could achieve with Fi's expert direction.Fi is a supportive, friendly, encouraging and enthusiastic teacher with patience to match her skills. She made time to talk to each of us and photograph our progress - such flattery! No one was made to feel lacking in skills or design sense, even complete beginners like me. Fi made it abundantly clear that each of us is capable of artistic expression if we give it a go and ignore the critic inside each of us.On arrival, the entire workshop space was beautifully laid out and prepared – the materials were all provided, even including a frame for each of us so we could mount our finished artworks.It was a fun day from beginning to end - sign up, you won't regret it.

Loved the chance to learn a new way of creating art. I'd always thought of collage as using found materials such as magazine paper, or other printed matter. Creating the the material to be used , whilst probably obvious to some, had not occurred to me! Fi made it fun and easy to follow. Great workshop not to be missed. Went home and carried on creating. Friends had positive comments about the finished work.

I did the beginners collage one day workshop with Fi.Her approach is gentle, knowledgeable and encouraging. It was such a nice way to focus on the art at hand for the day ( and no! You don’t need artistic skills to achieve a fab result!) and atvthe end if the day you have a completely finished product to take home.Keen to learn more from Fi if I can organise it

If you ever thought of getting in touch with your artistic side Fi’s your girl! Seriously Fi has a special talent for making you comfortable and teasing out your creative side. She’s fun and super talented. I think what she does best is share all her knowledge and craft. So generous. Her art inspires me every time I see it. There’s amazing use of colour and her love of nature shines through. Give a workshop a go and just enjoy yourself.

Fi travelled to Mullewa in the Midwest to facilitate 2 days of her collage workshop to MAD members and friends. It was a fantastic experience that our members will treasure for a long time. We all came away with a beautiful collage piece that will be shared in a community exhibition. Thank you Fi for travelling so far!! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Spent a birthday girls weekend with 6 friends doing a collage workshop with Fi. Everything was amazing! The project suitable fro beginners and more advanced. The music, food, and wine created a beautiful atmosphere. And the location of the cottage studio in the garden was sublime. Such a wonderful day. thanks fi.x

I purchased the DIY Collage kit when I visited Margaret River during the Open art Studios. I found Fi very friendly and informative.The kit was well provided and going through the instructions on line was very informative and easy to follow.The end product was very impressive and I would recommend the kit being purchased, because it is well worthwhile.Well done Fi, you are a great teacher.

I was following Fi on IG after being introduced to her by Perth art teacher Kate, in awe of her paintings and style. I purchased her collage kit and was thrilled with the contents, video step by step instructions and the chance to add my own interpretation of the shapes. It was a joyous, sticky experience that I recommend to anyone, no art or creative knowledge needed! She takes you through everything you need to know, you can work closely to her plan or add your own flair.
