I went in with a movement to be fitted into a new case, there was a small issue with fitment, but it was solved and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. As I'm sure assembling a watch from a bag of parts isn't their usual service, I appreciated them taking on the job as I'm sure they were busy. Excellent service and I would return for any watch needs.

I just picked up my Omega Seamaster today. It had a major service and I couldn’t be happier! My watch looks and feels like new again! They also gave me all the old parts what was changed in a plastic bag. I wasn’t expecting that but it was a nice touch from them to show me what was involved in the service. A big thanks to A.J. The best watchmaker in Canberra. I seem to need a new battery for my Longines every 12 months. This business takes about 5mins to install a new one and the price is very very reasonable. Compare that with the almost 3 weeks that Angus & Coote took in Brisbane and the exorbitant price they charged.

Had a disappointing customer service experience here yesterday.Work done on my watch for $480 without confirmation of the quote. I could have taken it to the manufacturer interstate for less, but wanted to use a local family business (watch not in warranty).Was told two messages and a call had been made to me.. but this simply wasn't the case. I have not at any point received a call or message from the shop. In fact, the only reason I knew it was done was because I called to see where things were up to!I still don't even know what the diagnosis was! Was told yesterday it was fee for a service and reseal ($480!!) - but the watch went in not working at all... Watch was at the shop for close to six months (yes, I should have called sooner).Here's the kicker.. No apology was offered, however they did offer to knock $100 from the bill and I gratefully accepted - when he ran it up only knocked off $80!! Haha!I only said it was disappointing and copped it but felt like I had been taken for a ride over the whole encounter. Not often I leave a review, but it's left a bad taste in my mouth.They do get two stars as the watch was repaired and appears to be working, and a recalibration was previously done on another auto for free.

I purchased a cuckoo clock around 4yrs ago from here. I decided to leave it with AJ Watch repairs for a service in February 2022 because it seemed reasonable that like watches needed to be serviced then so do these clocks and I was moving interstate with work for a year and just wanted to make sure everything at home was working while gone. Dropped in 1 month later because was in town. Still had not looked at it because busy and advised he will call. That’s perfectly fine. Returned around 4.5 months later only because once again I was in Canberra for a few days. Advised music box broken and that will provide a quote after looking at it in around a week. I requested that I wanted to collect clock (because since dropping of clock I had discovered there was a another repairer called The Clock Doc just a few shops away - not that I told AJ this…I just politely said that I would have appreciated feedback (phone call) about progress about clock.Now here’s the punchline: walked the clock over to The Clock Doc who looked at clocks music box in front of me (3min job) and wound it up….worked fine and advised me that there’s no need to fix themusic box and service of these clocks cost around $1200 and that if they don’t have a problem then they he recommended not servicing it.Now I don’t have a problem with waiting at all…but today I felt like I had visited a used car salesman not a watch maker/repairer. The man at Clock Doc seemed like a professional and I’d the one I would recommend.And as far as buying from AJ….well they don’t seem to have a great after care.Anyhow that’s my personal experience today!ThanksDr J DhaliwalAdditional edit: just noted the owners response ….further solidifies my opinion on the unprofessionalism: Um …no….I didn’t oil my clock!!…please don’t make up stories. Apologies if you felt offended by my review but it was MY experience as the customer. Your time is better spent communicating better to your customers and the several minutes taken to write your response is more time than another repairer spent diagnosing there was nothing wrong with the music box…..rather than childishly responding to negative reviews. Take it on the chin and improve? It’s more classy.

Quoted me $486 to service a Tissot watch. Extremely unfriendly customer service. The Clock Doc - just up the road from AJ - quoted me $125 for the same service, all with a smile and much more professional service. Save your time and money and visit The Clock Doc.

We have a watch with a complicated battery change and been told by a few other places that they couldn’t fix it. It’s a special gift and we are so glad we came to AJ watch. They are professional and polite, changed the battery within 10mins and explained the mechanics of the watch to us. Highly recommended!
