Solitary Islands Marine Park

Easy and relaxing walk to Muttonbird island

Great for a walk to see boats and marine life. I can't comment on mooring a boat as I don't have one, but place is always clean. If have the opportunity to visit I highly recommend it.

The Solitary Islands Marine Park (Commonwealth Waters) adjoins the State marine park and extends further seaward to the 50 m depth contour. The Australian Marine Park protects large complex subtidal reefs, including Pimpernel Rock, a unique underwater pinnacle with high conservation value.

I went there to visit my brother, and stayed 14 days taking advantage of their winter special. I had a wonderful camping site opposite the Camp Kitchen and one site away from the river which meant it was sheltered. I also got the winter morning sun to warm up the van in the mornings, a table with seats, a green carpet square for my feet and free wifi and a short walk to wonderful hot showers and very clean toilets. I fond it a beautiful place to stay at, and enjoyed the TV in the Rec Area to watch my favorite shows. I can highly recommend this place for anyone...oldies as well as families with kids. The staff are wonderfully friendly and approachable, and the kitchen was better equipped than mine at home.

Beautiful area, very scenic. The Solitary Islands Coastal Walk is worth the effort.

vhrystal waters, fresh breezes, wild sea birds, dolphins can be seen, opportinities for water activites, variety of marine life is awesome!
