Was in Tasmania for the week stopped here 4 times during the visit.Coffee was goodHam and cheese croissant was crisp buttery and fresh with real ham.The chunky slow cooked beef pie was on its own level with a massive amount of beef in it.Over all very consistent with friendly staff, both for take away and dine in.

Absolutely beautiful coffee. Perfect strength and temperature. My coffee machine broke this morning and I can say I’m thankful as I found this amazing coffee shop. Pastry’s look amazing I’ll have to come back to try them. Keep up the great work.

Long time fan of J&McR. I particularly love their house made pies, pasties and sausage rolls with their own tomato relish. They also do delicious bread, sourdough and pastries. Charming venue if you want to eat-in

Wonderful scallop pie!! You should try and go earlier, otherwise you have to wait to have a seat especially weekend. Of course you can take away.

I'm wheelchair-bound, so I couldn't go inside BUT the service, the food and the staff were fantastic! Have a close look at the items on the menu board! I wasn't aware, until after my visit, that this was part of the Battery Point Bakery - same superlatives also go out the that establishment, which I tried the previous day!

Grabbed a takeaway coffee whilst I had some time to kill, it was my first coffee for a few days so I was looking forward to it.Sadly, it was incredibly poorly made, thin bodied, watery, so very bitter and acrid, it tasted like the coffee was underdosed and not tamped! I tipped it out a hundred or so metres up the street after my second sip, it was just terrible.

Recommended!! Friendly staffs with nice services. Lamb is really outstanding, must try! Coffee and rocky road were good as well. I would like to spend more time here if I could.

The best coffee in southern Tasmania accompanied with mouth watering pastries, one of the very few remaining eateries that haven't increased the prices of their delicious products well worth the visit

Its a busy cafe, but you manage to find a table. They have a good variety of breakfast options and friendly staff to help around with table service.1. Vegetarian pie:RECOMMENDED($12.50) - It is large compared to the other pies filled with chickpeas, potatoes and other vegetables. Their sauce is genuinely good.2. Lamb pie: RECOMMENDED - The filling is amazing with cruncy crust. All pies are served with sauce and salad on the sides.3. Latte and cappuccino: RECOMMENDED.Overall a great cafe with prices on the higher side but worth spending as they will not disappoint you no matter what you order.Parking can be tricky but you'll find one nearby.
