We love this Fish & Chip shop. We get our burger with the lot+ chips+ can of coke for $10! Ripper burger. Great old fashioned value meal... just the way it should be. That’s why we drive from Pakenham for a walk and our treat.

This place was a great find. With my partner being Coeliac, it is almost impossible to find good fish and chips that are gluten free.Enter New Cod on the Block. They have a great range of gluten free options that are prepared and cooked in a separate area.The batter they use is light, crispy and tasty, the flake was super fresh and a great size and the calamari rings were fat and juicy, once again they were obviously fresh.Can't recommend this place highly enough.

5 star customer service5 star delicious food.5 star gluten free menu.I was shocked at how extensive their gluten free menu was, I was further shocked that they offered to split the family pack so one serve could be gluten free. Most other places would make your purchase the gluten free items on top of the family pack so this was such a kind gesture that meant a lot.We felt that the prices were very reasonable especially for the gluten free items.The gluten free potato cakes, onion rings, fish and dimsums were super yummy not dry at all. They have really nailed the gluten free batter. The rest of the fam enjoyed their regular fish and chips everything was beautiful and crispy and just simply amazing. I could not find a fault in the experience I had there tonight and I cannot wait to go back.

I ordered Whiting Fried in batter...worst I've ever had! Didn't taste like Whiting, and had a strange odour, like it was old or cooked from frozen. The batter was thick & rubbery. This is the 2nd time I've tried their fish...both times very disappointing, especially as the sign says fresh fish"!"

Went here after a recent recommendation on Monday 2/1/23 we indeed we had to wait a very long time for our fish and chips .....but! aside from being smashed ,short staffed and having wall to wall people kewed up out the door. The food was top notch , magnificent locally caught flake cooked perfectly.Well done to the staff that where working on the day, when you are under that much pressure you have to expect those sorts of delays.To all the complainers go cross the road.We will be back .

Best fish and chip shop I've ever been to. Ordered a burger with the lot ($8!!!!!!!) which came out super quickly despite the lunchtime rush and was incredible, 3 times as good as a fast food burger at half the price. Service was great too, 11/10

Dropped in after a day on the beach to have some beef croquettes and chips, and we were like seagulls eating it! So yummy! Nice and hot without being overcooked! Here is to hoping for more days on the beach… great picnic tables around the corner as well!
