Ellen Does Hair

In the past I had never gone to a hairdresser more than once as I was never happy with how my hair turned out. I even put off going to hairdressers for a year at a time as I was sick of being perpetually disappointed. Thankfully I stumbled across Ellen on Instagram as I have been regularly going to get my hair done with her for almost two years. Before we even started my first appointment, Ellen sat down with me to really discuss and understand what I was after, which is something I had never experienced before. I never thought I would be able to place my full trust in my hair with someone but now I completely trust Ellen’s judgment and have never been happier with my hair. I’d highly recommend Ellen Does Hair!

Hands down the best hairdresser I’ve ever had! I’m at the salon at least once a month to cover greys- every other hairdresser I’ve had hasn’t been able to manage that without gradually making my hair darker and darker, but Ellen has been brilliant at maintaining the balance and changing the approach as needed. I also see Ellen for regular keratin treatments and haircuts and have had her do updo’s for me on occasion too- all have been brilliant, and come with an amazing scalp massage at the basin! The salon is gorgeous and relaxing- easy to work at too if you need to squeeze your appointment in during the work day (not too noisy at all). But you’ll probably prefer to just sit there and relax while giving Alfie (resident mini schnauzer) a cuddle instead :)

Every time I get my hair cut with Ellen I love it when I leave. 2 weeks later I love it. Months later I still love it. I'm not sure what magic she plays with, but every hair cut has been far better than any other hairdresser I've seen before. Ellen did the hair for my wedding - me, 3 bridesmaids, 2 parents - and I was so happy with the whole experience. She goes above and beyond, is professional yet very friendly and she's scored herself a customer for life in me.

Haven’t had the chance to get my hair done with Ellen. However, I have had the opportunity to ask questions regarding my hair online and have received wonderful advice from her. She runs her business with professionalism and the service she provides is the utmost quality! I have no doubt she will continue to succeed going forward in this world. Thanks Ellen! You’re killing it :)

Ellen did such an incredible job on my hair! I was a bit nervous as I had never had my hair coloured, but she asked me lots of questions to make sure she knew what I wanted and she absolutely delivered. She also spent the extra time ensuring that the colour was even and would grow out nicely. Her space is lovely and clean, so if you're looking for a great hairdresser, I would 100% recommend her!

I spent the best part of a decade going to the most hyped about hairdressers across Melbourne. Then I found Ellen via Instagram. This girl is talented. I’ve never had the longevity to my colour & foils as I’ve had with Ellen. She knew exactly what I wanted without me having to talk about it in length in the chair – she is amazing, highly skilled, her prices are very competitive and she makes you feel at home in her beautiful salon. Book yourself an appointment - you won’t look back, I didn’t!

Ellen is truely a talented hair professional. She really takes her time to understand her clients’ wants and needs, but also provides a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work. I have been her client for years and she always acts so professionally when I get my hair done. I highly recommended Ellen for any events - thank for you all your amazing work!

Ellen is the best hairdresser I’ve ever been to, she makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and chats through your hair goals prior to doing anything to make sure you’re both on the same page. She is a miracle worker, she turned my hair from brown to platinum blonde in one sitting! I’m in Sydney now and I still haven’t found a hairdresser as good as her, so once the borders open up I’ll be back to Melbourne ASAP to see her because she really is the best!

We put a lot of trust in hairdressers and Ellen has never left me disappointed. Not only is she a fantastic hairdresser, she listens attentively and she's personable. I couldn't recommend Ellen's services more, plus her salon is beautiful! Looking forward to coming back after lockdown finishes!

Ellen has both cut and coloured my hair and is a fantastic hairdresser. She is attentive and efficient and has helped me achieve my colour goals in one session when other salons couldn't. I am always well looked after and it is evident she takes great pride in her service and work. Currently she isn't taking new clients, but I have recommended her to my friends for cut/colour when she becomes more available.
