Miaree Pool

It’s so beautiful and peaceful. You could camp here and do some fishing as well. There’s a Tarzan rope you could swing and jump in to the water. Heaps of fish. Could hear the birds and the crickets. Great spot to stop by.

Really nice place to enjoy sunset while swim with little fiah here

It is a small camp area about 700m off the highway (currently a corrugated dirt road - OK for 2WD - but slow going). The camp area is mostly on a slope but just 30m down a steep slope there is a beautiful big water hole that thrives with wildlife and OK for swimming.A confident 4WDer could camp down by the water.One toilet and shaded picnic table.

What a great place to stay. If too busy drive south across the bridge, plenty of room there

Good place to rest, swim and to stay overnight. Very popular with the grey momads staying here with their caravans overnight during winter. Popular with the locals is summer just after the rains for a swim with the pools fill up with water. TIolets and picnics tables. Plenty of parking spaces.

Moderate sized rest area for self-contained vehicles off the NW Coastal Highway south of Karratha adjacent to the Maitland River. Limited facilities.Time and Cost: 24 hours, free.Access: 800m dirt track to rest area from NW Coastal Hwy.Facilities: Moderate sized flattish area with dirt/gravel base and no shade. Some grassy sites by river for 4WD vehicles. Facilities include drop toilet, bins and a covered seating area. Good Telstra reception but no Optus/TV.Ambiance: Quiet, pleasant riverside setting. Can get busy at end of day.Suited only as an overnight stopover for self-contained vehicles. Close to Karratha for fuel and food. Can get slippery after rain.

Great campgrounds for what you get for paying nothing. Rough grounds at times as well windy in the mornings.

Overnight stay. No amenities this side of bridge.If you are heading towards Karratha take first entry and wind your way down past the broken wooden & wire fence, plenty more spaces there as well as 3 very friendly ducks.

24hr rest area, toilet, rubbish bins, vista views, not a lot of level camp sites but very large area. Select riverside camp spot with views of a river with water in it. Mobile reception and does allowed. About 30k to Karratha.

Wonderful spot for a walk and a picnic. Lots of eagles in the surrounding area, excellent views.
