A place in the world that means something. (Unlike a shopping mall or franchise fast food outlet).

Surprised at how big the caravan cafe has become . The food is very good with large portions. Plenty of tables and chairs with tent areas to shelter you from any wind and rain.

Good place to view the mouth of the Murray and coorong. Popular on weekends. Kayak are available and great fish and chips.

It's a sad case that the worlds largest catchment area requires a permanent dredge to be onsite to keep the mouth of such a mighty river open.My Grandmother was born on this Island back in 1893.The local Aborigines wasted many millions of tax payer funds in the argument over the secret woman's business" so not to build the connecting bridge to Hindemarsh island.I was down in Adelaide (live in Brisbane) for a dear mates funeral in Jan 2021. I was testing out my new Yamaha Tenere 700.These phots were taken near the Coorong Caf'e"

Where to view the Murray Mouth. The facilities are a bit primitive, however the view, more than makes up for that.

Need to wade a long way out to reach the the channel. Danger of reaching a sudden drop-off.

Visit if you want to see the consequences of upstream over use of the mighty" Murray water resources. Observe the industrial dredges operating 24/7 ... And get angry about the huge impact sucking out over 90% of the flows that used to reach the mouth and Coorong! Then as a tourism experience drive around to the Goolwa barrage and walk out to see birds and seals enjoying the water's flow benefits!"
