Tritone Brass & Woodwind

Several years ago I bought a number of saxophones, but I needed advise from a qualified Technician as to whether or not I had done the right thing in buying the saxophones I had already bought. Dirk was kind enough to meet up at one of his gigs in Canberra to give me his opinions and share his expertise and I drove down from Sydney with my instuments, one of them a delapidated 110 year old Conn Baritone missing the neck and mouth piece, but hey, I knew nothing about saxophones then did I? Turns out it and the Jupiter Alto, might have been the only sensible purchase. Dirk is the consummate gentleman, always happy to guide and share from his own vast wealth of knowledge, always a kind word. Thank you Dirk.

I brought in two clarinets for repair/review, and now it's like they're brand new with such clean sound! This has given me more confidence as a player performing with a band. I never thought anyone would be able to fix my family-heirloom metal clarinet to this level (others have tried). The last time it was this easy to play might have been pre-WWII. Dirk took a very well used and somewhat damaged clarinet and restored it to tip top condition. The quality of his work and his attention to detail is second to none. I’ve had my clarinet serviced a few times by tritone and they’ve always done a fabulous job. Recently I decided to fulfil a lifelong dream and buy a bass clarinet, but that was easier said than done as most music shops don’t have much expertise in instruments outside of the standard (and often don’t even stock them). Tritone were much more helpful, amazing customer service! I love my new clarinet

I purchased my horn from Dirk 3 years ago and I've loved it ever since. I recently returned to have it repaired and I fell in love all over again. Dirk is a master at his craft, and is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I could not recommend him highly enough, and I will certainly be returning if ever I find the need.

After fifty years, I decided to play the clarinet again. Before I started, I took the clarinet to Dirk for refurbishment. He overhauled it beautifully, and it played well for about 4 years until I stupidly started oiling both the bore and the keys, putting on far too much oil and creating problems for both the instrument and myself. As things started to go wrong, I put on more and more oil the poor clarinet had a complete breakdown. Once again, Dirk came to the rescue, and the instrument is now playing beautifully again.
