Avalon River Retreat

Great place to stay. Sophie, Ged and Tom were fantastic and really welcoming hosts. They made it a brilliant experience with tours, pony rides for the kids and feeding the animals. We will be back.

Had a great weekend getaway in the tree house. Really nice place to unwind and enjoy the farm. All the animals are extremely inquisitive and well mannered. Especially tucker the unofficial tour guide.

We had a fantastic couple of days camping here. The scenery is 5 star. However the host had some issues with our visit and although I think she had some valid points, she could have handled the situation better without the tirade of abuse in the email to us afterwards.Do try this place, if you are camping make sure you have a shovel handy because you'll need to clear cattle poo so you can pitch your tent, but it is a very unique and pretty part of the world.

Just had a wonderful few days at Avalon in the cabin overlooking the river flats. It was the perfect size for myself and my 2 sons, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. My two 'screen zombie' teenagers became kids again as they ran, swam, kayaked and fished by the river. They skimmed rocks, threw cow pats at each other and climbed boulders. They fell in love with the farm dogs and horses and and marvelled at the alpacas, sheep and pigs. Sophie was so welcoming and helpful, supplying us with wonderful fresh produce for breakfast and dinner. The walks and views along the rainforest, riverflats and rolling hills were spectacular. We would love to return for more!
