We love this shop. Unfortunately Japanese knives are an expensive hobby, but if you're going to buy them at least buy from people who know what is what. The staff here are fantastic and very helpful. Prices reflect the quality of the products they sell. Highly recommended.

The Aogami super steel is as easy to sharpen to hair shaving standards as it is to slip between the lateral cuts of an onion- a truly exceptional experience, unlike any other knife I have ever interacted with. I have bought a few things from here and the staff are really helpful and know their stuff. I can recommend the knife sharpening class, 2 hours well spent for the tips and tricks of knife care.

Bought my first chef’s knife of my own while visiting Melbourne, haven’t used it yet but already know it’s perfect.Awesome friendly staff, Julie was very helpful and effective at picking out a knife appropriate for my needs, took all the guess work out of the decision making.A MUST if you appreciate using a good knife. They also have great rice wine/sake!

Dropped by here to grab my first Santoku knife, had seen a few knives online, but wanted to hold and feel them in person.Staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable, I was shown several options in my price range, and with some umms and ahhs, walked away with a fantastic Mcusta knife, and a couple of cheeky Sake bottles.If you're interested in upgrading to a high quality knife, I'd highly recommend making Chef's Armoury your first stop!

Matt is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The range is extraordinary, I've had my chefs knife for 2 years and the quality has never diminished. The knife sharpening service is top knotch and my knife feels exquisite, like brand new. Highly recommended.
