As the maintainer of our club website, created by James from Smooth Developments, from time to time I have had the need to call upon him for advice/suggestions/support as I struggled to make required changes. James ALWAYS responds without hesitation and offers whatever is needed to resolve the current issue. In so doing my knowledge is boosted about how the website works and how to keep it running smoothly.As our organisation is a non-profit organisation, this support is crucial for us in being able to rely on our website for what it offers the club. I am currently responsible for the newsletter production at the Heidelberg Probus Club. When the club decided that having a website was a must, my background suggested that I should be involved in its development, despite not having any prior experience with website development. Accordingly I approached this task with some trepidation.Initially I did some research of my own. The field looked quite daunting to me as a newcomer. However, having now worked with James in the development of our new club website, I have gained a very good understanding of the best type of website for our needs, and how to set it up and run it on an ongoing basis. I've worked with James for over a year building a website from scratch for a national research centre focussed on preconception and pregnancy lifestyle health (hipp.org.au).
