Nice little stop in Laura where you can get burgers and chips as well as some groceries, small shop though. You can book a campsite here as well, camping spots are just across the road. Camping has nice basic facilities, including showers.

Keep driving is my advice. You can do better.Unfortunately the local community put on a performance to sour the best camp ground, not that this is anything close.Dated facilities, adjacent to road train traffic and overpriced for what it is.From dusk to dawn there was screaming abuse from drunken and violent locals delivered at the maximum volumes humans are capable of. I'm immensely grateful that I did not have my child with me.Add to that the constant despairing howls of neglected dogs and you have a perfect sleepless night.Never stopping in Laura again. What a sh*thole.

It's only open for fuel. You can pay fuel on the machine .

conveniently located on the highway. Stop of have a bite to eat and a drink and have a yarn with the locals. Fairly well priced for location. Good food.

Magoo the manager and his staff really showed us that the top end hospitality..... our vehicle had a little melt down. Magoo arrange accommodation and assisted with transport and dinner. The following day I hitched a ride to Cairns, while my hubby and Magoo did a little repair on the vehicle..... Magoo and staff treated us like long time friends... very humbled by their hospitality. Stop over for a feed and yarn......if ever we venture north again we will stop in... Can't thank you enough.....

Good to stock up on basic supplies and fuel, cheaper than the general store in Laura.

Good spot to stop and stretch at the end of the corrugations. If you have enough fuel wait to top up at Lakeland, but save your big refuel for Mareeba (a lot cheaper there)
