Anika Legal provides a friendly, efficient and professional FREE legal service to individuals needing assistance with residential tenancy matters. Their staff are reassuring and well trained and clearly committed to serving the community. I highly recommend them.

I agree with other comments on this site in relation to the timeliness of the service. It took them two weeks to get back to me after my initial inquiry, and each time I ask them a question, they take 1.5 - 2 + weeks (mostly 2+ weeks) to respond to the query. This lack of timeliness is obviously extremely unhelpful given that many people are dealing with urgent queries in relation to their tenancy issues, as am I with just over 4 weeks left on my lease.Also I concur with comments in relation to how hard it is to reach them. When you call them, there’s noone who takes the call, they just take your number and say they’ll respond to you. It took many business days for them to even respond to the initial call. Then the Paralegals - not the lawyers - ring you from undisclosed numbers so that you can’t call them back. It’s only when they take your case on that you have contact details (only email) for them, and then, it’s only to the Paralegal who can’t give you any legal advice themselves and simply relay messages to the lawyers ... and then the waiting game begins again.

Anika communicated about my rights and gave insight into action I could take. However when the matter didn't resolve and Anika legal had previously advised options to follow, they didn't act any further and started sending emails asking to end their service and then asking for feedback. So ultimately, I took care of matters myself, and engaging with them wasn't worth the time

They provide fast and free legal advice for tenants in need, they don't just tell you what to do but they actually do a lot for you, contacting owners and realstate agents, redacting letters and what's more important they show you that they care and that genuinely want your problems solved as fast as possible. 10/10 recommend.

We found them via LegalAid's automated emails as our rental issue had the horrible timing of happening when most places were closed due to Covid-19. But now after working with them even when more places are open I'd still be happy to chose them again. They were very easy to speak to, responsive, and so helpful. They resolved our issue and gave us the results we wanted and supported us every step of the way.

I highly recommend Anika Legal services. It's a free service and the people did more than I expected to help. My agent hardly ever answers my emails and rude on the phone. I had repairs urgent and non-urgent .and agent refused to do them... Annija Legal organised a visit from Consumer Affairs who wrote a report but still the agent refused to do the repairs. Anika Legal called the agent and organised the repairs. They also worked well with Peninsular Legal by providing a detailed letter outlining the repair issues. My only wish would be that they provide a more in depth service ... The agent has now targeted me for seeking lawyer's help and I'm worried about getting another place when the lease ends. The agent may give me a bad reference.. and other things too. So I am basically sruck bit at least my place is generally repaired and I am exhausted but it would have been impossible without Anika Legal. They are also easy to talk to, made themselves available 8 o'clock at night...and I felt listened to.

Really disappointing service. Your website CLEARLY states a 2 day turnaround of getting into contact. I rang after the two days and to my surprise there was a week backlog. That was too long for my case. I ended up sorting it without legal advice and it was super stressful. I then got a call almost A MONTH LATER! I understand it’s a free service, however it’s super misleading to advertise 2 days and not even inform the person that it will take longer (if I hadn’t rung in that first week, I would have never known there was a backlog). People’s livelihoods are on the line, they could be homeless by the time you get back to them because of your false 2 day claim. Please fix your website advertising to disclose the TRUE time it takes to contact them. Do better.
