Royal Private Hotel

Loved this unique hotel that feels like you are visiting a friends house. So welcoming and warm. Rooms are so comfortable and clean with homely touches that add a personal comfort. Very friendly host that patiently answered all my questions about where to eat etc. Comfortable beds with crisp white sheets. Quality towels as well which is so rare these days even in resorts. Plenty of character in this place with much loved trinkets on every surface but without the clutter and dust old hotels can accumulate. Lastly I have to mention the water pressure and shower head, heaven in a roomy spa bath. We will be back.

Julie, the new owner was very welcoming and hospitable. Lovely and comfortable rooms, nice spa bath and they are starting a pizza food truck which is really cool! Julie even checked the road conditions for us because there had been some questionable and dangerous weather. Thank you so much Julie and definitely plan on staying again!

It is a old hotel 1900’s so it has the issues you would expect. Loud pipes, noisy ( thin walls) and hard to cool down. Besides that its not bad two types of rooms spa and budget. The budgets are what you would expect bed and tv and not much else bath down the hall for about twelve rooms. Spa room are bigger and all the amenities of a hotel. Spas are old and in need of cleaning. The rooms have ac unit but it really doesn’t cool the room even during winter. They are noisy from guest and if the town had traffic you would have it. There is a truck out back serving chicken burgers and pizza to salty for me besides that ok. They are not licensed. There is also no WIFI.

I had a pleasant stay at this place. It is a beautiful old building with clean and renovated rooms, at a very reasonable price. The amenities are very decent and it has a fully equipped kitchen. It is located just a short walk from the main street. The owners really looked after me and my motorbike, which I was able to shelter from the heavy rain.

I like this hotel as I admire the old style wish it was restored to it previous grander. This is 1898, if Remember correctly, so it does have the issues of old wooden buildings. I would not recommend this place for children as the possible lead paint is pealing from the walls. I had two different spa rooms 3 and 5 I would recommend 5 as it was the much better room, 3 is basically a dump. The rating is based on they can’t be bothered with servicing the room and there is no WIFI. The hotel does show up as possible option for WIFI but will not work! In todays age it is unacceptable not to have WIFI!

Lovely place to stay. Stayed here will working with the Breaker Morant documentary crew. When I was staying here they had a ghost hunter investigating the area. Do what you will with that information. The owners are so lovely.

The Royal Private Hotel simply cannot be reccomended enough, The new owners are more then accommodating and made our children feel very welcome and as late as it was Julie even offered to help carry some stuff up to the rooms with us(you just don't get that anywhere). Our room was absolutely awesome that went out on to a massive veranda with a great view of the area, the bathroom was clean a very flash, A genuinely terrific experience.

Absolutely the best place to stay. The owners are just outstanding in there hospitality. Its a old place but its so family orientated. Word are beyond my vocabulary to explain how grate it is

Absolutely agree with the positives from the other reviewers, but they forgot to mention the powerful showers with plenty of hot water and the superbly comfortable beds.I stay regularly and always get a great night's sleep.

Stayed two nights. Love our room with all facilities. Friendly staff. Comfortable old setting with share lounge and kitchen.
