I bought a voucher at a silent auction for mechanical work here and as nice as the staff were, I was ultimately very disappointed. I paid $250 to have a catch can & fuel filter fitted that I'd already purchased. I already had a dual battery under the bonnet so there wasn't much room but I'd found a company who had custom made brackets for my model of ute, photos to help with the install and an offer of phone support if anything went wrong. When I called Heckrath and suggested it might be a bit of a fiddly job that I was asking for, they boasted on the phone that it would be no problem & that they could make anything work as engineers with many year's experience. I sent through several photos & specific details of how others had done the identical job & how I would like it to be done the same. When I rang during the day they said it was causing huge headaches, that the catch can didn't fit easily (as I'd already told them would be the case) and that it was physically impossible" to fit the fuel filter due to "simple physics". I offered them the phone number of the mechanic who had sent the installation photos & written instructions but they refused to call him to discuss it. I even got him to call them but they wouldn't answer the phone!! When I finally got through again they refused to call him back for him to quickly explain it. When I picked up the car the catch can was sitting WAY higher than expected but they promised it was definitely NOT touching the inside of the bonnet. By the time I got the car home I checked & the bonnet already had a big indentation from the top of the catch can that was clearly too high & touching

John and the team are fantastic. I had such an annoying noise in my car for ages. 3 x other guys have tried, but these guys nailed it first try. A worn shocker rubber of all things!! Cost me more in fuel to get there than to repair...LOL. Thanks team - I'll be back for my auto trans service soon :)

Heckrath Engineering has the ability to diagnose any technical problems with any car.I’ve witnessed it on more than one occasion.Save yourself time and effort. Go here first.I can highly recommend this company.

I am waiting until I pick my car up to make a comment.....................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I picked my car up today and Heckrath Engineering did a great job on my Audi Cabriolet. The hood mechanism has been a real problem and they fixed that and serviced the car as well. I was given valet service from boss John from Southland Station to their workshop. I was even offered a courtesy car for next time I have my car serviced. Also, I have been searching for someone to seal the rear window and John recommended Blackmans Trimmers. I called around there straight away and was delighted to be told they can fix it and at a reasonable price.I was recommended to Heckrath's by a trusted member of my car club and I highly recommend their work to others.

Went in to get my timing belt done,got the car back and all it does is shutters,took it back to them and they said they couldn't find a problem,took it to another mechanic and the timing was completely out.They had the car for over a week the second time probebly didn't even look at it once.Hard to find good mechanics buy plenty of dodgy ones out there.

John and the staff are great , i wouldn't get my cars serviced anywhere else.
