Outdoor InDesign

Fantastic end result by the Outdoor InDesign (ODI) team led by Mark. Included demolishing our very old (and hazardous!) roof and structure, and re-designing and building our new CoolDek roof with height joists and slat fencing. The down lights and ZipTrak blinds are a great finishing look and is exactly what we imagined. I'd like to say thank you as well for the builders identifying the very unsafe subfloor posts originally holding the deck up, which they re-constructed and made sturdy and safe with minimal fuss!ODI was also able to liaise with our Title Insurance regarding the deck safety and other issues which we are grateful for.There were a few issues with communication, skip bin issues with its collection and disposal adequacy, and the top side color of the CoolDek roof was incorrect (but can't be seen anyway, and Tom was able to recompense us for this oversight). All in all, we love the final product and the difference it has made to our home. We look forward to furnishing it and making it a true entertainment area for years to come.

They did a first rate job replacing our old brick car port with this modern, cost effective and stylish new car port and flower beds. Fine attention to detail, friendly tradies and quality materials produced the outcome we sought. Definitely recommend Verandah Solutions

The process we went through with this company started as an exciting project but descended in a very painful and highly stressful process.Given the final outcome was OK, I would recommend that if you are dealing with them, double check everything and ensure that you confirm and agree on all design aspects and materials prior to entering into an agreement.Our experience can be summed up by poor communication, Outdoor In Design over committing and contracting to third parties to do the work and leaving them to deal with us as the customer when they were only doing what they were instructed.Our issues included:Missing items on the design which were discussed with Adrian met with us on site (Which they denied), including the cladding around the bottom of the deck, even through a door was included. Where was the door supposed to go when the sides around it were open?Given we had a budget, this was over what we were prepared to pay and O.I.D were not prepared to wear it, we had to pay over 50% of the costs for both substandard material and workmanship resulting in the cladding plinths continuing to snap the screws holding it in place and bow.Installing mismatched timber steps (Treated pine when the deck is Merbau).Picturing a handrail in the deck drawing, discussing the handrail then admitting it wasn't included. (This was address and installed at no cost to us after another tense conversation)While Tom worked through these issues with us to resolve the issues, the whole process was not customer centric and we felt like we were treading om eggshells, after having to continually address issues that were coming up.If you choose this contractor, discuss your expectations and make sure are clear about what you want and what they can will deliver.Nearly 12 months later, they contacted me stating that the final inspection was completed and that if it expired we would be up for more costs (this was then resolved) and finally that we needed make the final payments - which have now been settled.On top of this, we were still waiting on a small repair to leaking down pipe which they have now said will need to be lodged as a warranty claim - probably only needs silicone, but good example of the after care service you can expect.While the deck has come up well it was a terrible experience and I would not recommend them to friends or family.

Tom was the easy to deal with and had good understanding from the beginning of the project. Mark and his team did a superb job on my carport. I'm really happy with their product, workmanship as well as after sale support. Whole project was smooth and I didn't had to follow up at any stage. They also very flexible and help me to accommodate time schedule of other tradies working at house at same time.

Outdoor Indesign are a TERRIBLE company, they are fantastic when quoting, measuring and taking your money… once our $35000 louvre roofing was finished however, that’s when the story changes.Our roof was not waterproofed from the beginning, which they couldnt care less about, now the louvres don’t even open or close- not manually or automatically.The roof was built less than a year ago to create an outdoor living space to leave furniture and enjoy throughout the year, our furniture is now ruined and sitting out in the rain under a tarp looking hideous.What’s worse is that we cannot even contact them, have left numerous messages, sent videos, filled in all of the online warranty forms over a month ago. We can only speak to someone if we contact the sales department (no surprise there)Now we are going to apply to VCAT for some sort of assistance as this is just a joke.Save your money and buy a tarp or umbrella from bunnings at least it will serve a purpose!

I got a quote for a louvred verandah and upper balcony roofing from Adrian in November 2022. He was very friendly and gave us lots of information. We were told that if we signed a contract within the next week or two, it would likely be built end of Feb/start of Mar 2023. We signed the contract on 12th Nov 2022 and paid the deposit.It is now May 2023 (next Friday is the 6 month contract signing anniversary) and nothing has been built yet. The permit applications to Council were only made last month. Although everyone at Outdoor Indesign is friendly when I speak to them, very little seems to get done. I have always provided information, filled in documentation and paid instalments as soon as requested, so I have tried to get things done promptly.I cannot yet comment on the quality of the work (and I will amend my rating accordingly when it is done), but at the moment I am not at all impressed with the proceedings, given I am spending $60K with the company.

I had Verandah Solutions & Home Improvements replace 3 skylights with larger versions. Really happy with the work and the team were wonderful to deal with. I would definitely recommend them.

In short, I cannot recommend Verandah Solutions highly enough, from our initial meeting with Tom who came for the quotation, we were given great advice about our options to ensure we have our verandah build perfectly. I must say we have made the right decision having Verandah Solutions to do this job! We now have a very beautiful, well constructed enclosed/outdoor area for the kids to play with in all weather conditions :)They have made it very easy from beginning till the end, Mark listened to what we wanted, suggested the appropriate option and went above and beyond in answering all my questions throughout the whole process, his team of polite & friendly tradesmen carried out the installation with a minimum of fuss and disruption. Kate has been very helpful and absolutely amazing in keeping us informed with each stage.I am a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend Verandah Solutions to anyone interested in dealing with a team of true professionals.

I was impressed with all stages of my louvred verandah - from design and construction to final site clear up. I would thoroughly recommend Verandah Solutions. I now enjoy my outdoor space, in particular the ability to control light while not losing a vista of wide open sky and my outlook on a significant eucalypt in a neighbour's yard.
