I love burgers. Maccas, KFC, Grill’d, pubs, cafes, restaurants. I love them all, even a burger that’s gone cold overnight and reheated in the microwave the next day.But the burger I had from Pounders Balwyn (Grill On) is the first time I ever remember throwing away a burger after just a few bites.The bun was depressed and dry. The beef patty was utterly tasteless, thin and lacking in any satisfying texture. It was an all round unappealing, flat, sloppy, hot mess.Don’t waste a single meal on this place.

Interesting menu with some fusion flavours. For opening week there are some promos so check out their Facebook. They are open late and offer delivery. Our meals were a bit hit and miss, we liked the plain wings and onion rings the most.The American classics (buffalo wings and Philly Cheese steak) were not authentic and spicier than normal. Eastern Spiced Fries are beer battered chips (not fries) plus Indian (?) spice added. Sadly, the chicken Burger On had a mashed up crumbed party rather than a breast/thigh fillet, it was otherwise tasty. Brioche bun and Turkish roll for cheesesteak were nice.

Ten out of ten for the Philly Cheesesteak - splendid. Twenty out of ten for the onion rings and the loaded fries. I could honestly live of the delicious sides from this establishment. All the ingredients are nice and fresh. This is a great choice for a cold night when delicious rich food is required to warm your tummy. Excellent.

Can’t say I’ll be returning ie I was the only one there, asked for egg as well in the burger - didn’t come with it. Also cannot say that the meal was worth the cost. All in all disappointing

Pounders Burgers - Balwyn North
Ordered 2 burgers, 1 chicken, 1 beef. The spicy chicken burger was subpar and not worth $17. My son enjoyed the beef burger. The chips were terrible, one would think the oil needs to be changed as they were uneatable. Simple review is. Would we buy again? Unfortunately not... perhaps it was just a one off experience.

Had the Philly Cheesesteak and a Chicken Burger Off last week. The Chicken Burger Off was good, but the Philly Cheesesteak had very dry meat. This was super disappointing as I’m a huge fan of the original Pounders in Glen Waverley where the Philly Cheesesteak is always amazing.

Pounders Burgers - Balwyn North
The burgers here are very good. Served with a good generous portion. The price is reasonable too. We tried the onion rings and they were good too. The place is neat and tidy and the staff are very friendly. Our food was ready on time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good burger place in the Eastern suburbs.
