Passion For Pets Carrum Downs

I'm disgusted at the treatment we received at the Carrum Downs centre. My partner and I drove over 40 minutes especially to buy a groodle. We just managed to get there by 4pm, and it took staff almost 20 minutes to attend to us, let alone notice we were in the store. At about 4:20, we had chosen the puppy we would like to adopt and were then told we could not purchase one today as it takes more than one hour to fill out the paperwork (absolutely ridiculous in my opinion) and the store was closing at 5pm. When we had then asked politely if they could contact the owner as we had travelled so far, the response from one of the staff member's was 'even if the owner is happy to allow it, none of the staff member's are willing to stay back to make the sale'. The girl who spoke with us was extremely rude and unfortunately for this business, a sale was lost.Furthermore, the puppies there appeared to be living in a very poor unhygienic state. There was no food or water for them and they appeared to be quite dirty. Would not go back there again!!

Recently renovated and looking clean and fresh. Prices are pretty good, we can get everything we need for our fish, guinea pigs, bird and dogs. They no longer sell puppies or kittens either which is ethically brilliant.

Went in today for some guinea pig therapy and have been consistently astounded at the improvement of the business. The place was clean and organised, all animals in appropriate cages/enclosures, and they were setting up for a cat adoption day.Staff are all exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly, and there's been one young guy who only works weekends (tall, slim, eyebrow ring, owns Nagini) who has been spectacular every time we've gone in there.Yes, items are expensive but it seems consistent with every pet retail store we've been to. Excellent job recreating yourselvesAlso, high five to the sign person. They always give us a giggle

I am very pleased with the pup I purchased from Passion for Pets. I already had a pedigree pup but she was a little timid and I have found from past experience its better to have two dogs. I could not get a pedigree as they need to be ordered so looked at Passion for Pets. Got a lovely pup 12 weeks old, he is now 7 months old and an absolute delight. So healthy, well adjusted and was so easy to toilet train, used the green pad straight away. He was clean and flea free and had obviously been born into a kind home which has made him so well adjusted. Thank you for my lovely pup.

I have to say that we are very impressed with the new management for this store. Been back 4 times now & we’ll keep going back. Very happy.We have purchased some dog food after being given free samples for our pup to try, she loved it so I traveled back to purchase a 2.5kg bag. I found Darni to be super helpful & very informative which made us feel very comfortable to shop here.We travel all the way from Mornington because of the superb service & prices.Keep up the good work & thank god for new owners that actually care. we bought a puppy form there in late Dec '11. the staffs were very helpful and polite. though the price seemed a bit on higher side but the puppy was from a good breeder. i did a vet check near my locality (not the free vet check they provide) - and everything is fine with the puppy. highly recommended.

Passion for pets what a joke. Should never have bought a dog from a pet shop let alone this one. We were told it was a teacup Pom and it was advertised like that and paid big bucks for it only to find out it grew and grew to be a normal size Pom. So ripped off. I was crazy and stupid to but it at the time. His loved now and can't just hand him back. When I called the owner didn't want to compensate me fir anything and was surprised it wasn't tea cup. Yeah right. Just a money making venture. So peeved and advised when purchasing a dog to go to rescue adoption places as that's were ill go and save a life. A lesson my husband will never let me forget.

You see that cute puppy in the window? It's poor parents are living in fear, without love, and in horrible conditions. They have no beds, only concrete, and surrounded by their own faeces, they are so matted it hurt their skin.This awful store supports the places that torture dogs for money.9 years ago regretfully my dog came from here. I recently noticed the paper work says we got her at 6 weeks old! No wonder she has so much anxiety problems.They have also given myself and many many other terrible and incorrect advice regarding the care if reptiles. The sell them but they clearly just make up how to look after them if they don't know.Luckily I have learnt my lesson and never been back. But they continue to lie to customers and sell puppies who parents live in fear and horrendous conditions.

When I walked into Passion for Pets, the staff did not acknowledge me or my friend and they were arguing. The store is dirty, gross and they do not have the variety of puppies they advertise online. Once you see the puppies you can tell they are all completely starved for attention. After looking at the puppies for a few minutes and not receiving any help from staff whatsoever, I asked one of the four staff members (a male) if I would be able to pick up one of the puppies. He replied with an eye roll and asked if I was actually considering buying a puppy from the store" and was very rude. I replied with

I purchased a beautiful happy healthy much loved pup in December 2006...I totally love this dog and I hope they continue to have more ❤️ Although store is now gone (2019) the best ever purchase in 2006 bringing immense joy
