Doors Galore

By chance, we only enquire about the front door seals and Mark is very keen to come to our house to check. Then we realise that the original front doors were poorly installed when the house was built 6 years ago. Mark indicates that the best way to fix the problem is to replace the doors. We had the new doors installed by a very competent carpenter Shane. The new front doors look beautiful and are secure; no more rattling and no more draught on a windy day. A job well done to Mark and Shane. We are quite pleased and give Doors Galore five stars. Go for quality if you can afford!

Our new door looks great. Doors galore were helpful and patient as we searched for what we wanted. Outcome was a solid quality door and sidelight for less than the mass cheap veneer options other places offered for higher price. Install booked within time expected and happened easy in a day. Would highly recommend that you become really well educated on doors, door handles and where to place door handles etc because Andrew & his team of contractor Carpenters are curtains unhelpful and unprofessional. It started out as an exciting Opportunity to upgrade our front door area, but sadly ended up only in disappointment!If you’re going to charge that amount of money, you better lift your door game!!!Two thumbs down from us Doors Galore!Not worth it!!

We had an absolutely terrible experience with Doors Galore. If you are looking for a door supplier, I would recommend an alternative and this is supported by numerous other reviews online.Our doors were completely rotted out within 5 years and needed to be replaced, costing us thousands of dollars. Doors Galore took no responsibility whatsoever and blamed the painters for the issue...As soon as we paid our deposit, things went downhill immediately before any of the issues with the rotted doors.All I can do is warn others based on our experience. We have renovated 4 houses and this is by far the worst experience we have had both in terms of dealing with a supplier and the product we ended up purchasing.If it were possible, I would give 0 stars. My profile picture is what you get from Doors Galore. The doors sit on a raised deck, therefore no water build up as about 30cm drop to the ground...

Andrew is a genuinely great guy who will go out of his way to get you exactly what you're after without trying to upsell or gimmick his way into a sale. He's very knowledgeable, patient and will offer his honest opinion. He responds quickly to queries and will follow up when needed. his carpentry team are fantastic and have done a brilliant job installing everything. I'll definitely be going back to Andrew when our next requirement for doors arises.

Great service, had two custom made doors done for my new build home. Seamless process from quote to install. Can’t fault them at all.

Andrew (Director) came out to measure up and was pleasant and (seemed) knowledgeable. I followed up three time over the next month to get the quote only to be told the last time that he couldn't get a carpenter so wouldn't quote. I said it would have been nice to be told and got 'oh well' as a response. I understand it can be hard to get tradies but don't leave all the follow up to the customer. Poor form.

I visited the Doors Galore showroom and told them I wanted someone who could advise me about which doors, locks, hinges and seals I needed for my front and balcony doors. I’m a new apartment owner so I was relying on their expertise. I thought I was in good hands but unfortunately they did a substandard job and I have lodged it with Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria. I’m waiting for that process to complete.I won’t go into the details but the company didn’t install the doors properly and then tried to blame me, inferring that I knew that the building was deteriorating and hadn’t disclosed it. They threated me with legal action if I didn’t pay and I felt very intimidated and paid, even though the jobs wasn’t completed. Since then, I’ve had a couple of tradies look at it and they are gobsmacked at what a bad job it is and told me I should not have paid until the job was finished properly. Doors Galore wrote that I wanted them to fix the building structure at their own expense which I never expected and is certainly not required. I think the carpenter who did the installation didn’t want to spend the extra time needed to finish the job properly, the company didn’t want to spend extra money on getting it right and they used the threat of legal action to make sure I didn’t withhold payment. Thank God other tradies are more principled, and knowledgeable, and are going to fix the problems made by Doors Galore.

Went in on the advice to buy a new part. Andrew spent a good 20 mins asking me questions and explaining how to diagnose the door properly. In the end I didn’t need to buy parts. Instead he gave me so many tips and a few things to try. It was such a wholesome, old school experience that I had to go straight here and give the 5 stars. Highly recommend them!

I contacted Doors Galore (Andrew, Director) for advice in reducing the noise coming through our front door. Was advised by Andrew that if we were to replace the aluminium door frame and the door with a solid wooden frame and door the noise will be significantly reduced. Initially Andrew seemed knowledgeable, polite and helpful however he turned out to be the opposite. The installation was a shambles. The first guy came and left as he didn’t think he could do the job (at least he was honest). The second guy was a disaster. He made a complete mess, damaged the new door which had to be replaced. The noise has increased 10 fold from before not to mention the cold air coming through the gaps. When I contacted Andrew about it, he lied saying he didn’t know about the noise issue and that he didn’t visit our house to consult in the first place. He came to our house twice. Also he refused to come and inspect the works. After many attempts/phone calls he came. Which was a waste of time. he was rude and aggressive. He refused to rectify the problem. It’s now with VCAT waiting for a hearing. I strongly suggest you think twice about engaging them.
