Manmaruya Japanese BBQ Restaurant
When we hungry folks were scouting out a good place for dinner along the streets of Beverley Hills, we decided to try out barbecue and we left with not a drop left of meat or disappointment. We were assigned to a table near the open window which we were unsure at first, but as the night went on, the seating placement was absolutely perfect for us. The smoke from the barbecue filters out the window and allows breathing room, my gratitude to the architect there. I also give my thanks to the delicious food at Manmaruya. While service can be hot and cold, it doesn't distract from the ingredients being the centre of attention. We ordered a Manmaruya Yakiniku plate and a Short Rib bento which both came relatively quickly. I can definitely say that the high price points for the banquets are justified, considering the bountiful amount of food that comes with each. All three of us were satisfied and beaming with glee at the end of the meal. The bento possesses a great variety of both barbecue and ready-to-eat foods to pass the time while waiting for the meat to cook. Their marinated short ribs are immaculate with the divine mixture of sweet and pepper that permeates throughout the juicy meat. All the ingredients are fresh with top-notch quality, each bite being a flavourful intermission between lively conversations. I would recommend bookings for dinner as the restaurant becomes very popular once the sun sets. So bring your friends along to the feast or if you're on your lonesome, treat yourself to Manmaruya's cure for sadness: Barbecue.

Have been here many times l before and the quality of the meat is just as good as before. Service was very good and environment was clean. We ordered the premium meat platter for $42 and then added a salad and soup. The soup was not good as it was meant to be a spicy beef soup $17 but came with very little beef. Suggest saving your money and getting either another bbq meat choice or getting something else more substantive. Our order was just perfect for 2 people. The only thing disappointing is that lettuce costs $5!!! Whereas Korean bbq places always provide lettuce free of charge. If I were in Japan then I get it that veggies are expensive but lettuce should not be that expensive in Sydney!

Do not bother going here. The Korean bbq meat is incredibly overpriced for the portions you get. I spent over $100 as the hotpot and bbq set was so small that I ended up needing to order a sushi platter in order to be full.Really overpriced and the hygiene of the restaurant is also very suspect. The menu you receive is not only sticky by incredibly smelly. It has that typical old wet mop smell you will recognise if you have done any cleaning work before in the past.I have no idea how this place has an average rating of over 3 stars yet alone 4 stars. Maybe when this restaurant was new and had a better owner/staff? Either ways, avoid this place and save yourself the disappointment. For $50/pp, there are a lot of better alternatives nearby.

This is a well-priced Japanese BBQ restaurant where you can put your cooking skills to the test. There is no all-you-can-eat option here, you basically order as you go. My recommendation would be to go with a set meal as the foundation, then order individual items. If you don't feel like BBQ, you can just order readily made meals like sushi, sashimi and other hot food.Overall, the kids really enjoyed the cooking experience and the meat was decent for its price. Service-wise, the only issue was that the meat platter took a good 30 minutes to show up without much communication from the staff.

Nice little cozy place for a family BBQ or friends to catch up for sake and BBQ. Came for dinner on our last night in Sydney. Tasty marinated meats, potato croquet was yummy and we missed on the yam fries. Would definitely visit again in our next visit.

We ordered a banquet, and weren't told until pretty much the end of our meal that they weren't going to be able to serve us one of the items that was part of the banquet. We were compensated for less than what the item would have cost on the actual menu, and though we let it slide, it did leave a rather sour taste in our mouths for what was meant to be a birthday celebration dinner. Though the lack of organisation was quite dismal, the food that we did receive was good.

I came here a few times and I have noticed that they've made significant changes with their ordering system - QR code to order online. Very quick and easy system, and you can order whenever you want. It's honestly great. The prices are on the expensive side but the portions are generous. I love their bento combos which includes sushi, sashimi, salad with seaweed, kimichi radish, vegetables for the BBQ, miso soup and rice. Their meat selections is quite vast and marinated. The wagyu meats are expensive but definitely worth a try. We also ordered their beef bibimbap which was good but wasn't expectional - I wouldn't order it again.Side note: they have very limited parking which can be a pain when it's busy.

Really enjoyed the food here. Excellent barbecue and sushi / sashimi were top notch. Another great restaurant at Beverly Hills. Not cheap but good Japanese food rarely is.

Been to this restaurant quite frequently over the past year. Meat cuts are fresh and flavourful. I enjoy their ala carte side dishes for a low price of $9.90. Recommend the short rib, ox tongue and pork cheek. Try to ring beforehand for booking as the place gets crowded.
