Marilyn the chef is a legend. Beware though patients can get away with assaulting other patients with no penalty. As they are told that the other patient is “sick” therefore nothing can be done. Being locked in the lounge room to be kept “safe” from attack isn’t good enough. Tasmania needs better mental health services. Choosing between one evil or another is appalling and as a result people are dying or being forced to seek treatment interstate or overseas. If they survive that long

Went for a couple of sessions With Dr Davie, leant back on his chair, put his feet on the desk and proceded to tell me my depression and anxiety was my fault. I've had friends who have been to him also and we all think he is downright dangerous and should not be giving anybody advice on mental health. Coming from the amazing Perth clinic back to Dr Davie at Hobart clinic was like coming from the Jetsons to the Flinstones. Disgraceful!

They are not taking outpatients at the moment and they are very picky who they take as in patients. They don't really deal with anyone who has full-on problems. They just get the same people in there who stay there for months on end and never get better.

Everyone is very nice and helpful you are well looked after by catering staff. Also the ladies who look after your rooms, couldn't wish for better.lots of choice of classes to help you Help yourself. Which is what it is all about anyway. Office staff lovely and helpful, as is the people who teach you self help. Love Art classes , Relaxation. Dr. Jacob George should have his license revoked, did not listen, extremely condescending and was quick to rush me out the door to book another appointment. Was absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated and a complete waste of $320 and 35 minutes of my time.

Costly, even with private health cover. And for what? The nursing staff confused my file with another patient, asking me questions regarding another individual's condition and mental state (and in doing so, breaking patient confidentiality!!). Felt like a cross between a jail and a nursing home. Ended up leaving with more diagnoses than I came in with, from Dr Davie - who never actually spent any time assessing me during my stay. This is just a money making venture masquerading as a psych hospital.

My husband who is desperate to beat his ice addiction was rejected by the Hobart Clinic as he is too complex a case! No doctor there was willing to take him on as a patient. They did not even speak to him. They told us he would be better off in the public system even though he has full comprehensive health insurance! Unbelievable cannot believe they can treat people this way. Obviously they keep there 98% success rate because the only take on the easiest of cases.

Very disappointed with this clinic. Most of the nursing staff are wonderful ! Not impressed with a doctor, at this facility. Has no empathy with people with depression. Doesn't listen to patients who know what treatment works best for them. Likes to discharge early, even when patient isn't ready to go home. Food is lovely, as is the kitchen staff. Would not recommend clinic to anyone with depression.
