Salvos Stores Newstead

Love this little op shop, very neat & clean & well priced.

We found a few good items (clothing) in this Salvos. Clothes are arranged by colour, which is a good idea. They had a number of lovely brand name pieces I liked. This Newstead location is clean & neat, with friendly staff. You can use the carpark under the Bunnings.

Salvos Newstead is back!! Amazing variety and so easy to get too just drive into the Bunnings car park and there it is! Also 300 bus stop on Breakfast Creek road! So much vintage and designer clothing and accessories which they are well known for! So happy it’s back! it’s one to visit regularly as a Brisbane opshopper xxx

This op shop is now listed as a Boutique. So don’t go expecting some amazing deals. Don’t get me wrong, there is some alright deals but there is a dedicated section for overpriced clothes which occupies a good half of the store. It’s mostly fast fashion brands listed for imo too much listed as “boutique” items. Lovely staff, they just need to be more transparent about this shift from good deals

Such a rediculously vast array of products here. So much fashion, shoes and accessories, furniture, household brick a brack and all, in my opinion, great prices. I've bought a whole outfit from here for $20! They have small bins outside for donations, not sure about parking as I always visit on foot.

Gorgeous little op shop tucked away under the Bunnings, very high quality selection and lovely staff!

Heads up - lease is up at the end of Oct 22 and the store will be closing for good. Currently discounting donated goods to have a clear out. Will be moving to a new premises beside Bunnings near Breakfast Creek but not reopening until 2023 (and will set up as a 'concept' store so expect the 'opportunity' part of it being an op shop to disappear to be replaced by the inflated fixed price model they are rolling out elsewhere - I call it the endeavour model as the endeavour foundation op shops were famous for pricing things at laughably high levels - and they all closed although they blame it on Covid). For some reason Salvos are intent on replicating that business model and so far seem to have ruined the old Alderley Salvos with the move to Enogerra which is large and clean but there are no opportunities there with their pricing - not a place for any bargains to be found (and no longer a place where marginalised people in the community feel welcome to drop in as they did at the rambling old Alderley shop). The current salvos management appear to have forgotten that op shops are a lot more than simply places to sell clothes at the highest prices. If top dollar is the goal just sell everything online and dispense with the leased premises entirely.
