This place is the cleanest, friendliest place that I have ever stayed at. Friendly helpful staff from the cleaners to the desk staff, Eddie on the front desk went above and beyond what I would of expect from any employee in the industry. The hotel is in prime position in the CBD, restaurants and many tourist attractions are just a small walk away.I will not hesitate to stay here on every trip that I make to Darwin. Did I mention how cheap it is to stay here? You will never ever no if you never ever go but stay at the Darwin City Hotel you won’t regret it!

Rooms are adequate but no chair in the room, tiny fridge that barely fits a couple of drinks in. Bathroom is tiny and the exhaust fan that comes on with the light sounds like a jumbo jet winding up!Biggest disappointment is staff that have trouble understanding English and are hard to understand.I was in the secondary building which used to be a YHA building.Good location, but would be better paying more for a better room.

Fabulous! The staff always on the lookout to find out more about you so they can tailor service to your needs. I never get much notice in having to be somewhere and I always have interconnecting travel. It is always complicated. Reception staff know me and they always can find a way around the dramas. Great beds, room upgrades, dark rooms made for sleep with everything you need for a cocoon until your next flight connection. Well done all of you! This is a real find, affordable AND fab!

Check which building before you book. They have another building out the back which is the old hostel, just fixed up. No hot water in the shower had to get moved. It said laundry facilities but only in main hotel. Very noisy with the local clubs around has to use ear plugs to try & sleep. Went to leave early in the morning and the supervisor did not even acknowledge me. You pay extra been in the cbd but the rooms in the back building are very average. Would not rate it , stay elsewhere.

The location of the hotel is such that you can hear the music from the bars on the next street will I to the wee hours of the morning, (let alone the groups of people leaving the bars yelling and screaming) so it was very hard to get a good night’s sleep. We were “upgraded” to a family room, which just meant an additional two single beds we did not require. The room was unclean, with what I think was snot on the wall and tv, and the bin in the bathroom appears to have been used as a vomit receptacle at some stage and never properly cleaned. There was nowhere to sit other than the bed, and the bathroom was not big enough for more than 1 person to use it at a time. Better off to talk the additional 3 minutes up the road and stay at H on Smith. We stayed there for a few nights at the start of our trip and it was fantastic in comparison, for much the same price.

Defently not a 4 star hotel more like a 2-3 starCause I have stayed at the Oaks before and that was more of a 4 star hotel.I was in the rooms at the back of the main block Queen Room not a Queen Economy which they also had Advertised. The block i was in still had YHA Australia stickers all over the place so they must of been old rooms for the backpacker next door. The shower had mold & rust in showerThe door didn't close with out slaming it shut like it would not lock behind once I left the room.Bed was like sleeping on the floor I think the floor was more comfortableAnd pillows were like as thin as feathers there was nothing to the pillowVery disappointing stayChecked out early without a refund due to the quality of the room.

Nice staff and room was okay. Sadly very very noisy at night. The hotel is very close to some nightclubs which are allowed to make significant noise up until 4:30am. Was awoken from sleep at 2am to the whole room vibrating. Wouldn’t recommend staying if that’ll be a problem for you.

Nice and clean room with comfy bed, friendly staff, convenient location, but very noisy at night. The hotel is very close to some nightclubs which are allowed to make significant noise up until 4:30am.
