After a lot of running around and trying to get information about the process of filing for a building I came across A1 drafting. Tina was a great help in answering all my questions and explain me what needs to be done. I highly recommend A1 drafting for their excellent customer service and quick turn around.

A1 Drafting undertook the work to obtain a planning permit for the construction of a carport. The process was a challenge as the plans did not meet the council guidelines. After the council rejected our request for a planning permit, Phil and Tina used some good negotiating skills with our council to obtain a satisfactory outcome for everyone. Tina and team from A1 Drafting did the design of upstairs extension for our house in heritage listed precinct. They managed the whole process of getting planning approval from Council very well and we are pleased with the design and outcome!

I needed help designing a suitable verandah and spa area to comply with local authority (Whitehorse Council) requirements. A1 agreed to assist me. In the event I needed lots of help; mostly because I did not understand exactly what design was acceptable. This cost more than my original quote because I kept changing my mind and needed new drawings after discussions with Council. At all times the drafting professionals were just that; professional. Not always quick; but neither was I. Mine was not a big job, but it ran close to the regulations. And A1 successfully got me planning and building approval. Then, during the build I also used their engineers as we found we were building over a sewer and needed to modify the footings. Again, additional cost but necessary to address this surprise. We solved it quickly at a reasonable cost. The final proof of the effectiveness of the process is council sign off of the build, which I received this week. Throughout I felt I could trust this company to work in my best interests and keep good working relationships. Highly recommended.
