My wife and I recently attended a debutante ball at this venue, and while the overall event and venue were presentable, there were a few aspects that left us disappointed. The facilities were satisfactory, and the venue had an appealing appearance. However, our main concern was the quality of the food provided. The entrée portion consisted of only three pieces of calamari that were poorly presented and felt insufficient. The main course was disappointingly small, barely enough to satisfy a child's appetite. Moreover, we were expected to serve ourselves salad from a shared bowl onto plates that were already covered in gravy, which was unappetising. Additionally potatoes arrived at our table 30 minutes after the mains, and they were cold and soggy. To make matters worse, the price we paid per person was an exorbitant $120, which included only coffee, tea, and soft drinks (cola and lemon). The lack of a more varied beverage selection was disheartening. Consequently, we found ourselves so hungry after the event that we had to make an impromptu stop at a fast food restaurant on our way home. Based on our experience, I would not recommend attending this venue.

Very nice place. Space to accommodate over 500 guests. Easy access to our suburb. I was really surprised to see such small toilet cubicles... Not enough space to close the toilet door, once you are inside!

Amazing food and extra special touches by the venue, helped have a special and memorable day. What an amazing experience !I had the privilege to work with Mr. Chawla and his team at Cathies Lane Reception on ‘Back to 70s with KUAA’ which was a mammoth event and one of the best in the year 2023. It was an amazing customer experience from very beginning to the end. Everyone including Mr. Chawla , Rad , Glen and the whole crew were super friendly , professional and helpful. They collaborated with the event coordination team perfectly and produced a very high-quality event end to end. The venue, catering , decorations and just everything was perfect and up to very high standards. I highly recommend Cathies lane reception, it’s the best in Melbourne by far!

I recently attended this facility for a deb. The facilities ( main room) was the best part. The food was awful. The lasagna was a crime. For $150 dollars per person I'd much rather get a tin of beans because at least that won't make me sick and it might taste good unlike what was being served there.

WOW, was the feedback from our guests. Guests appreciated the service, the venue and described food as delicious.I booked the venue for my son’s wedding reception. Krishan the owner was very accommodative, We, held two functions all through the day, he kept to his promise and allowed even our last-minute requests fulfilled.Rad, the event manager did a great job, don’t have words to appreciate her hard work, attention to detail and on top of that her caring nature. She was able to even fulfil an on-the-spot dietary request from one of our guests for her child. We had a wonderful day celebrating Mothers day at the Grand. on Sunday 14th May. When we arrived our family and friends commented on the beautiful gardens and venue inside that was so tastefully decorated. We could not fault anything from the delicious food 10 course banquet] to the amazing talented artists that all gave wonderful performances. Thank you so much to the owners of the Grand and for Derrick J for organizing such a lovely afternoon. It really made my Mother's day and everyone said they had a fabulous time. Well done and thanks again.

Booking Cathies Lane Receptions for our wedding in April 2023 was a fantastic decision! Thank you so much for such an amazing night, everything was perfect.We loved the food, service, the venue, the staff, music and everything. Been here more than 5 times .when the old owner JUDE was here everything was perfect. He never let any home catering people to provide service but now it’s other way around very unprofessional staff and food .I don’t think the catering service registered and insured . It doesn’t seems like professional way to run a business. I’m really disappointed twice on this place specifically food . Absolutely disgusting.Hey man first - don’t label me who I am , you just assuming I’m a Sri Lankan , all right ? I don’t have to be Sri Lankan or any other bloody country to comment on what felt . It’s freedom of speech.Second - you don’t expect anyone to review you on your Woking time . people have own timing . Also does the time is matter to leave a Comment ?Third - I don’t do food tasting don’t call me for free dinner and justify your bloody bad food handling .Fourth- you must have registered ,insured and certified caterers to do an event . I’m 100% sure you will face major penalties soon if you don’t .I will inform to the council if you really feeling hard to rectify your issue. Let me know here so I will email to council now .Thanks
