We were very disappointed with our hire. We thought we would be getting a nicer car to begin with (as is shown on the website white prado or similar also with a full tank of fuel not 1/4), instead we got the owners car sprayed in tough resin that dropped a lot of black oil and was very loud to drive. Pickup is from a home in the suburbs of Bray Park with paper work signed on the couch.We got caught out by this operator because we failed to understand the limits of hire (a simple map with coloured areas provided to clients would be of immense help in this situation and would have avoided this happening altogether), we drove west past Champagne pools along a very reasonable track to the west side of the island to check out Wathumba (the track to lake Mackenzie is actually worse). Orchid beach has been updated with matting and is now very driveable. But without any communication he charged our cards $500 each, or at least he tried, my bank declined him and froze the card so he charged the full amount to the other member of our party who also hired from him, this is unprofessional and unfair to the other party.The way that he alerted us to our breach via writing post charging the card, was condescending and extremely rude, we had no intention to break his rules and a simple phone call or politely worded email wouldv'e been appreciated. Even since dropping the car back we have had no communication with Dirk much to the disappointment of both hiring parties.We treated the car as if it was our own and unfortunately the oil dropped from the car has stained our driveway beyond a simple degrease clean.We hired based on the sheer number of positive reviews on google and are therefore very shocked and upset at his treatment of us as his clients. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER USE AGAIN!

We had great time in Fraser island. Dirk was great to deal with, very informative and willing to help us as soon as we needed. Easy to communicate and honest. We highly recommend Dirk and his 4x4 rental.Thank you so much.

Dirk is wonderful.Super helpful.The 4wd drove like a dream and is wonderfully powerful so never gets stuck even in deep sand.We spent 3 wonderful days touring fraser island with no car issuesCould pick up the car in brisbane and drop it off at the airport.Highly recomended.

Hired the prado from dirk and didn’t disappoint, car wasn’t new but gees it drove nice and was so easy for me to drive. Dirk was so nice and helpful, gave us the tide times and what tracks not to go not just for his car but for our safety too, easy to talk to and communicate if I needed anything. And if you don’t know anything about 4x4 he tells you all the info you need! Would hire again!

The size and equipment of the Prado we hired made it relatively simple for everyone in our inexperienced party to tackle the tracks, rocks and beach sand of Fraser Island. Dirk was super helpful in adapting to changes in our travel plans and provided great advice on the conditions on the island. We will be back to Fraser Island soon and will be hiring from Dirk again.

A highly recommended service.We booked a 4x4 through Dirk for our weekend trip to Fraser.Dirk gave us lots of helpful tips and advice to make sure our trip was successful.The truck and camping equipment were perfect for what we needed. Breakfast on the beach and a tent that popped up and down very easily.As you can see from the pictures, we were lucky enough to take the CAMO 4x4 for the weekend and it was excellent! There was not a single part of the island this truck wouldn't go. We also had to rescue a few Aussies from the sand!The hiring experience was a pleasure throughout. This is THE BEST way to experience Fraser Island.Thanks Dirk!

Fantastic in every way! great value, friendly / professional advice, flexible with drop off/pick up times. It was a pleasure dealing with Dirk, as well as using one of his cars. really good quality and perfect for making your trip as enjoyable as possible. never had any issues whatsoever on Fraser. we travelled a lot of the island and the car strolled through it. Dirk really cares about making his customers experience as enjoyable as possible and we stuck to his guidelines and we had the best time ever! can not recommend him enough. will for sure be using him again!
