Great wildlife are inside an old dormant volcano. We saw kangaroos and emus and lots of birds. Great views of the reserve and surrounding area from the top of the peak hike. The other hiking trails also offer great views of the reserve and the old volcano crater.

If you are near this reserve, you need to go there ! It is easily accessible by car and there is car parks to easily park it. Even though it was pouring rain, we did a quick loop walk of around 30 minutes and saw 5 koalas hidden in eucalyptus trees, with one carrying a little baby! Open your eyes and you'll spot them. And on our way back to the car we also saw a group of kangaroos, also with babies in their pouches. Finally, meters away from our car, we saw a group of 3 emus. Everything in like an hour. One thing however, they road to the reserve way nearly flooded when we went there, so depending on the weather of the past months, it could be closed.

We had no idea of this place and but we’re recommended to go. The real shame is we didn’t spend enough time here. My recommendation is bring a packed lunch and spend 3-4 hours. Do a walk, have lunch and then do another walk. So many animals. We saw koalas, emus and even a red belly black snake. A real experience

A beautiful spot with a number of walks that are quite easy to tackle. BBQs and toilets and plenty of spots to picnic, usually available. The wildlife is the standout though with an inquisitive emu, koalas in the eucalypts, kangaroos on grassy clearings and swans and all sorts of other waterbirds. I've also seen snakes so please take care, especially in the warmer months.

One of my ultimate favourite places. We only saw 2 emus and a handful of rabbits today but we usually find emus, kangaroos, koalas and the occasional echidna. Beautiful scenery and the walks are well marked out and definitely worth doing

Amazing nature sanctuary just a 10 minute drive out of Warrnambool.Nestled within the craters of a dormant volcano the area is teeming with native flora and fauna of all sorts. With five distinctive walking tracks that are suitable for all (except maybe the Peak track which is very steep) this is an absolutely amazing place to immerse yourself in nature. You will get up close and personal with the emus that wander around the picnic area and if you are lucky you will see many other native animals up close such as koalas, wallabies, lizards and a vast array of native birds. An absolute must visit if you are in the area.

We were lucky enough to spend a couple of hours with Brett Clarke, who taught us about the history of Tower Hill. Brett’s willingness to share his knowledge of country and culture was incredible. Of note is Brett’s knowledge of bush food. Couldn’t recommend the experience enough. And once you’ve been here, go on a tour with Brett’s nephew, Reuben, over at Tae Rak Aquaculture Centre.Always was. Always will be.

We finally visited after driving straight past way too often over the years and we're glad we did. As we entered we met a friendly ranger who made great suggestions on walks. We did three walks (the boardwalk, Wagon Bay and the Last Volcano. We then enjoyed a cuppa" in the lovely picnic ground. ADVICE : Bring insect repellant. Will call in again. The magpies were very friendly
