The Beach Retreat Coolum
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had been refurbished which was great. The bed however was old and uncomfortable. Our room was on the first floor above the bistro and near the road which made noise and privacy an issue. The view of the beach and ocean was superb. We didnt need to drive anywhere since beach and shops were within easy walking distance. One towel per person is unusual. The bathroom needs better ventilation. The complex and carpark are not secure.Worth checking the status and location of your room before booking.

The Beach Retreat Coolum
Our second time staying at The Beach Retreat and we were treated to a free room upgrade upon arrival which was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms are showing signs of age but this did not bother us in the slightest as the location and facilities are fantastic. We had a lovely sea view and a roomy balcony that we spent a lot of time on. Being only a very short walk to the towns restaurants and literally over the road from the beach, The Beach Retreat represents great value and is always a great place to stay.

The Beach Retreat Coolum was the perfect location, view was amazing from the room. Room was very clean. Our room was a bit small we had booked a few rooms for family and we ended up with the smallest room without any lounge area, but still a lovely stay and lovely air-conditioning. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely book again.

Upgrades over the years are evident. My apartment was lovely. Contained everything one would need and was fresh and clean. Location is a winner of course. I always stay here when visiting Coolum to see family.Everything was perfect.

Great location, fabulous staff that bend over backwards to help you, lovely clean rooms (a little dated but still really nice), and awesome swimming pool, spa and sauna. We really enjoyed our stay here and thoroughly recommend it!

The Beach Retreat Coolum
The unit was nice and the location great, but security was bad. Ground floor unit on the main road with no security screens meant all the doors and windows had to be closed when we were out or asleep. No roller door on the basement entrance meant the garage was insecure.

Our apartment was nicely renovated and very clean - the bed was comfortable. The TV was the best size I've seen in holiday rentals. I love the low key atmosphere of Coolum Beach. No high rises to put the beach in shadow. Our view from the apartment down the beach was great.

When staying in Coolum we always stay at The Beach Retreat, the rooms are comfortable, the location is spectacular with a great view of the beach and the noise of the sea lulling you to sleep. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed. It was only a short walk to hotel and cafes and shops. Check in was speedy and the staff are so friendly.

My booking was made in haste and realised I had booked the wrong month. Luckily the after hours team was able to amend the booking, very grateful for their help. The location was great and lovely to wake up with a sea view. Unfortunately our air conditioning didn’t work and we were cold overnight with synthetic blankets. Loved the spa bath in the room but 2 small bath towels is never enough for two.The sauna and pool were amazing, clean and lovely. The spa was WAY too chlorinated, we couldn’t stay in and my partners blond hair turned green from shoulders down. Seriously toxic! Lovely location, management seems tired.

The Beach Retreat Coolum
Had a great stay here. After a mix up over the rooms, we were moved to the view room we were expecting and the customer service was great. The room was upgraded nice and the beds comfy. I would agree with one prior review tho, that the high bar style table on the patio was uncomfortable to sit at. Would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
