The Denman Hotel Thredbo
I had a great experience here, lovely staff and a warm, clean room to return to each day. I booked a mountain view room and it really didn't disappoint. My room also has three large windows with double blinds, once pulled up I thoroughly enjoyed watching the weather go through cycles from dense fog to heavy snow fall, to sunshine. I had a balcony and while too cold to sit out on, I went out to take plenty of photos and watch the many crow visits! Bed was large and super comfy too.Rooms have a fridge, usual supply of milk, biscuits and tea/coffee. And shower gels etc in the bathroom. Also really liked the big cosy dressing gowns. Yes they don't restock the bathroom (as people have complained), but no need, but they did restock the bikkies (thank you!). It's such a waste to throw away a half used shower gel to give you a new one. Thumbs up to the Denman for not being wasteful.Breakfast (for summer season), was choices of cereal, sliced meats, smoked salmon, baked goods and bread for toast with condiments, tea and coffee + juices. If you want a fancy coffee you pay for that (which is fine, but again another complaint I see in the reviews) but filter coffee is free and was actually very good! I had a bit of a thing for the gorgeous cinnamon scrolls. Also for Easter we had a lovely little gift of mini eggs at the breakfast table, lovely touch.Wifi was great for me, no issues streaming stuff and was pretty fast.Perfect location to all the hikes I did, I walked easily everywhere. Close to the lifts and the village. Great.I think most reviews on here are not very fair. If you come to Thredbo to sit in your room all day, watch tv and need masses of space and luxury restocked items then perhaps this is not the right trip for you. If you plan to spend all day out in the fresh air and want to come back to a warm, cosy room, happily exhausted then I don't think you can go wrong here.

Breakfast is okay.Rooms had no nice features and very small. Husband and I had dinner and end up paying $28 for 3 pieces of Ravioli. Even through it was one of the main meal. Not enough options in the menu. Unfriendly staff looked like no one really cared about serving.I highly do not recommend their restaurant for dine in.

HEADLINE: Restaurant is amazing, accommodation is below par.We have been regular customers at The Terrace restaurant - it's always an absolute highlight of our Thredbo trips (which I would easily rate at 5 stars) so we were looking forward to an equally amazing experience actually staying at the hotel.Well, I couldn't be more underwhelmed. The rooms are tiny, shabby and uncomfortable. The early 90's decor is in major need of update, and the general serviceability of the rooms is poor: our shower was almost unusable, which is devastating as the one thing you look forward to after a day on the mountain is a good hot shower. The TV was tiny, and located in a position that made it virtually unwatchable from anywhere within the room, and the furniture so worn out that it just looked grubby.Breakfast is a bit like the quick and the dead". We arrived at 8:15am to find that breakfast had been decimated by earlier arriving guests. Only slim pickings remained. Charging additional $6 for coffees clearly a money grab when most places include coffee as part of breakfast...In terms of value - we stayed at other places during peak season for twice as many nights

Above average for accommodation choices at Thredbo and good rates. Decor within the hotel and in the rooms a little outdated and in need of a refresh. Breakfast only served 8-9am is rather restrictive, but understandable for summer season. Redeemed by a friendly apres bar and well made cocktails, great atmosphere, and its food menu was a pleasant surprise and very tasty.

Typical 1970s ski lodge. Accommodation is generally clean, very very basic, needs some maintenance and is extraordinary overpriced. The rooms remind me of a country town motel from several decades ago and wouldn’t be worth more than $100 a night if they were located in said country town but as it’s Thredbo you’ll pay three times as much, even in the summer season for very basic accommodation.Good location and great view, bar downstairs is generally pretty awesome. Bathrooms are tiny. Ok value in an overpriced town but I’d look around and explore options.

It's just OK!• The entire hotel needs updating.•The rooms are dated, worn & in need of repair.•WiFi is slow to Nil.•T.V is basic, no frills live to air channels only.• Even the loo paper is cheap.• The Terrace Restaurant served up a nice evening meal & the breakfast, whilst predictable, was enjoyed in a nice setting.

Dinner: eat before going, small meal sizes. No kids meal on a menu.Use ur money buy fuel and travel 97km to maccas in Cooma for a feed.Drinks down stairs were good, barman was inviting unlike upstairs in the restaurant.

Oppressively noisy, but very friendly staffBeing a highly ranked Google Reviewer, I like to be generous with my reviews and I don't usually like to complain about minor things, as humans, none of us are perfect. So please see my other reviews before judging me as some kind of Karen who likes to complain about everythingThe Denman was a cute little hotel with very friendly, accommodating and excellent staff. The staff and the service was world class. The staff cannot be praised enough..However, the rooms were really expensive. For $500 per night during the week, you get a one person bedroom and ensuite about the size I’d expect from a prison cell. This wouldn’t be that bad if it wasn’t for the fact that the room is located on top of a pub which plays loud music till midnight every night, during the week (I can only imagine how much worse it is on the weekend). I’m not going to ruin people’s abilities to enjoy music, if that’s what they enjoy, good luck to them, however, I don’t want to listen to music whilst trying to sleep and should have been forewarned about it. Was I forewarned, I wouldn’t have booked that room. And for $500 per night, you think they would be less stingy with basic supplies such as soap and toilet paper. They didn't even supply me with more every day and I had to specifically request more to ensure that I didn't run out. Cheaper hotels are significantly less stingy with the basics. Also, the walls are very thin, allowing you to hear your neighbours’ televisions at a reasonable volume. (Despite the fact that it was at a reasonable volume, I could hear their TV louder than my own!)The buffet breakfast, however, which is included with every stay, is worth it. The buffet breakfast is really good. If you have to pay such exorbitant prices to stay here, at least the buffet, which is included in the price, is worth it. It doesn’t justify the prices, but it’s a good buffet, and I say this as someone who isn’t necessarily the biggest fan of breakfast foods. The breakfast and the staff are the only for such a high review

My husband and I had a king room here over Easter weekend for a couple of nights. Overall, we had a decent stay as everything in our room was in working order and clean. The hotel is located right near the village so it’s easy to get to attractions, food, shops etc. However, the bed was uncomfortable (both husband and I had sore backs and necks), there is no on-site parking, and the shower temperature was hard to adjust.

Food and service was excellent. This is my third time there and I love the seafood linguine and desserts with a nice red wine. My partner like the other red meat dishes too.
