Relaxing stroll through the gardens and farm cottages. Free to visit the gardens but you will need to pay for the house tour.

Very nice place, it looks impressive, but it's a pity it is only open on the weekends.

Wow, fascinating insights into how we lived. Also great cup of tea and shortbread comes with the tour.

Sadly this old historic home is very run down and not so inviting. The history is interesting and that’s about it. The ladies whom show you around were a little stand offish but very knowledgeable. There’s nothing to say it’s $10 entry per person so watch for that, it’s not worth it. We looked around and left quickly. Such a shame the home is in such poor condition. It could be restored and be beautiful. There are no bathrooms on or in the property either.

Clarendon House, lovingly restored by the National Trust, is a grand old home built for a successful pastoralist and merchant (James Cox) in 1838 and maintained by about 100 servants. This building and surrounding grounds need to seen .. it’s like looking at the Pride and Prejudice set.
