John and Jacki have done an amazing job on my Low Light. Complete engine, transmission and steering box rebuild. I thought it drove well before but now, its incredible.During the rebuild, John and Jacki stayed in contact, updating me on all the work.I highly recommend Vee Dub Centre.

I would advise anyone considering substantial engine work with these guys to stay away! I went in with a particular issue with my Type 3 and they convinced me I needed to spend $13,000 in order to fix it. I trusted them so proceeded with the work. After the engine was “rebuilt” the problem still wasn’t fixed and I was treated with such rudeness and defensive behaviour I decided to go somewhere else.The other day my car’s engine seized and my new mechanic took a look at the engine and was absolutely appalled at what they saw. They informed me that the $13,000 rebuild that had been done was of poor quality and that the parts used were cheap and quite frankly not up to appropriate standards.They then told me that they had seen 3 other people just this year who had similar poor quality rebuilds from Vee Dub Centre and who will now need to spend even more money just to fix the terrible job done.The waste of money is one issue, but its really disappointing to see these people treat these beautiful old cars so badly and rip people off. These vehicles often have lots of sentimental value, and replacing hard to source parts with cheap plastic alternatives is shady work at best.Just wanted to share so that hopefully no one else gets ripped off like I have!

Took my 1973 vw beetle in for a check up after it begun running very roughly. I had been having it serviced regularly by another provider.I found the staff friendly and informative. When work was completed, it was like driving a new car. Couldn't believe the difference.I now have confidence back in my much loved Beetle.

I spent 13500 on repairs and barely got home. My reconditioned gear box was jumping out of gear and I had so much shudder in the car when engaging the clutch I had to pull off the road.... the response was defensive.When I rang to question parts that were being used for replacement ie brand, price I was told by John to “stop micro managing him”...???? why the heck wouldn’t I want input as to what parts/brands were been used!!!! The impression was they are only interested in moving over priced stock from their shelves. When I asked them to list the parts/models on the invoice this wasn’t done, just generic descriptions.When I picked up the car different carbies had been installed to the ones I chose. Tuning was poor and continually fouls plugs (I have done less than 100kms). I was told that wheels on the back were oversized and resulting in tuning problems (they are a bit bigger than the front).I feel ripped off and frustrated with a car I was very excited about.Over the past year I have questioned a few people who were selling similar beach buggies and they have had a similar experience with the Vee Dub Centre but had kept quiet (as it seems a lot have - they have stuff all reviews for a company around so long.... why), felt I should share.

If you own an aircooled vw, this is the BEST place for servicing. Just had a 10k service on my kombi, she came back better than new. They took the time to go over the entire car as part of the service, spotted a couple of things that needed attention, called me before to check if I wanted them fixed. No nasty bill shock or fees for random stuff that doesn't need doing. I've owned several classic cars and always done my own service, but I'll always come back to the veedub centre, workmanship is first rate.

These guys did a full engine rebuild of my 1974 1800 Kombi in January 2019 after a guy in Dunsborough had absolutely totalled it!!When i came to John and Jackie I had not had my beloved Vinnie running for 3 months and was rockbottom after dealing with Cape to Cape Mobile Autos in Dunsborough.John and Jackie were super supportive emotionally as well as doing not just the engine rebuild but a bunch of other wear and tear jobs and bringing Vinnie back to life in no time.I love the service and expertise I get here so much that I drive up from Dunsborough twice each year especially for my services and any ongoing repairs. I won't use anyone else in WA for my Kombi.

Was super helpful, took the time to chat check out what i needed and even discuss how to fit and try and see if we could make what i needed cheaper by not selling what I didn't need. Would recommend for any vw nut
