Mortimer's Lodge

We have just stayed at this lovely little cottage as a midweek escape from the city. We thought the photos on the website looked great but we were amazed that the cottage was even better in real life.The cottage has been thoroughly and thoughtfully renovated with out losing any of its character. There is so much detail to take in and everything in the cottage is of a very high quality.We explored Chiltern, although being midweek not everything was open . It didn’t matter though because it was only a short distance to so many places … we looked around Rutherglen, Wahgunyah, Corowa and Beechworth … and maybe a winery or two…We’ve never experienced Google home set up so enjoyed playing around with the automated technology.We appreciated how easy it was to book through the website. We will definitely be back. Thank you

My partner and I hired Mortimers Lodge as accommodation for our wedding in October.Merv and Tracey were very communicative and extremely helpful in assisting us to arrange exactly what we needed. They were eager to make our stay as stress free as possible and were full of information in regards to Chiltern and the surrounding areas.The house has been beautifully renovated and wonderfully presented. The interior is tastefully modernised and is very welcoming whilst the gardens are gorgeous and relaxing.I can't stress enough how wonderful our stay was and very much appreciate everything Merv and Tracey did for us. I highly recommend Mortimers Lodge to anyone wanting to stay in the Chiltern area!

We recently had a fantastic time at Mortimer’s Lodge. Firstly, couldn’t believe how friendly the people of Chiltern are, nearly everybody we met wanted to say Hi and have a good chat. The property is amazing, decorated tastefully, modern but with an old world feel to it. Australian Pickers would have a field day here!! We enjoyed lighting up the fire in the evenings and having a couple of glasses of wine in front of the TV. IGA is a short walk and has everything you need. some good places to eat in town including the Bakery which we received vouchers for included in our stay. The Google Home system was really easy to use. Outdoors there are various different seating arrangements and the outdoor lights in an evening are beautiful. Great place to switch off and relax, If it wasn’t for all the modern amenities you would feel like you’d gone back in time. Highly recommend. PS. Make sure you say Hi to Mille the neighbours dog who will greet you with a friendly wag of the tail and a teddy in her mouth.
