Had Sunday breakfast here, the service was ok, not brilliant. Only 1 size of coffee available (small), so when I needed a 2nd one, the wait staff were too busy serving others to attend to us, so I got up and ordered from the bar. The wait times for coffees were also relatively long. Having a large coffee option would partially solve this issue at least.Food wise, the corn fritters were quite nice, however even after adding bacon as an extra, the meal size was quite small. The bacon also had that gelatinous “been sitting in a warmer” taste to it rather than freshly fried - I could be wrong but that’s how it seemed.My wife’s spanner crab omelette was a better size and reportedly very tasty.Vibe was more “hotel restaurant” (which is what it is) than trendy cafe.It was reasonable overall, but not on the same level as other local cafes and I won’t be rushing back. Perhaps the dinner or lunch experience is better.

Delicious food! Every dish was well thought through with an amazing combination of textures and flavours. Great wine list as well and super friendly service. Dessert was my highlight! Highly recommended.

On a blistery freezing night, straight after the cinema we went here to find a warm locale with warm and friendly waiters. The place was booked out and after tasting the food I understand why. It was sublime.

My family and I went on its second day of opening. A few minor issues although everything was rectified quickly... but the service was outstanding and the food was quality. The floor manager Fiona absolutely was on point. The poached calamari was surprisingly awesome, the oysters were fresh and the vinaigrette to top them with, was wow! My boys had the steaks and cooked to perfection. I had the spanner crab risotto / pasta and that was great. May be a bit expensive but I will most Definitely be back.

A dinning experience fitting of the Pentridge setting. North&Common is a venue that embraces its unique setting then sits you down and wows you with delicious fine dining. The poached calamari with charred brussell sprouts was a hit & must have. Otherwise the food is perfect for sharing and drinks list is exquisit. I'll be back with friends and family. Love it

Thoroughly enjoyed our first time dining here. Mark Glenn has done an excellent job with the menu, the service we received from Catherine and the product knowledge and talent of the fabulous Nic who is behind the best cocktail I’ve had this year ‘Mediterrano’ perfect balance of truffle gin, sun dried tomato liquor and vermouth bianco. Stunning (photo attached)Beautiful wine list as well, we found some great matches with the tastiest food in the North of the city.Quite pricey, but extremely worth it. We’ve already booked our next time here

Stunning interior and lovely atmosphere. We had the chef selection menu for $79. Well worth the price for what you get, the food was excellent and service was great. Can’t wait to return and try the other dishes on the menu.

Had brekky here as we were having a staycation at the Adina apartments. Great service and food. All they need is a killer fireplace in there. The baked yoghurt with persimmon was exceptional. The eggs and sides were great. Prob need fresh juices rather than the pressed juices you are using: we would recommend and we will return for dinner in the future. Thankyou

Best restaurant this year. Went for Sunday lunch, it wasn’t too crowded advised to book for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Outstanding dishes was the ox tongue and crab rosini. Service and atmosphere was great. Definitely go again

A truly standout addition to Coburg. The space is a beautiful juxtaposition of modern and heritage and the food and drinks are top notch. The produce-driven menu is a highlight, featuring seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers. Can’t fault a single dish though the pine mushrooms and butter poached calamari were a few favourites. The drink list is extensive and unique as well. Can’t wait to come back.
