Didn't realise it was one of those places where sellers 'rent a space' , which means prices AREN'T negotiable , which means prices are usually high .Having said that , I made one purchase (overpaid IMO) and enjoyed looking through everything.Staff were very helpful

Love this place but it's getting very expensive to purchase anything.

Firstly, the staff were helpful and very friendly. However the range of antiques was somewhat limited and repetitive. We also noted that most items were priced approximately 20% higher than the very high end of market value. Some stalls were clean and easy to peruse, however there were some messy stalls that were covered in a lot of dust. A lot of stalls were disorganised. There was also a few concerning smells. There was nothing of interest to our kids. But they did have clean toilets.

There's a nice Cafè attached. They're teaching teens to pull a coffee. Spend several days in there. Too much to digest in 30mins..eat at the coffee shop too !!

Wow. What an incredible store. You could spend hours in there!

Could get lost in here for hours. Lots of nostalgic pieces and so many things I could have bought

Luv luv luv the Coliseum ...After prezzy (for me) ~ Mum's B'day (passed 2015)... Set time aside & happily wandered around for 30/40mins.Mum loved Unicorns & we luv cats, found both like a magnet for under $50 (Y) Way too easy to find more; laybys; A Ok Mother's Day around the corner :P ...All the staff are lovely & helpful. Thanks to Teresa, Fiona & the lady from Shop 26 (I think) for great price on Dragon pair. Luv their quirky reuse of mags/wrapping paper etc into carry bags.Walked thru to Vincent's Cafe for coffee & home made take away $20 :)An iconic local Mayfield, building. After entry do not walk thru next doorway unless you've time to spare, it's the perfect tardis storm, easily distracting.Bargain day out really & local ~ easy walking distance.Visited: Thurs~22/4

Every time I visit Newcastle I make the homage to the Coliseum. Step in the door - step back in time. This atmospheric building will draw you in as you run your eyes over everything inside. Peer in to cabinets, grovel on the floor; that's what finding treasures is all about. I've certainly found them here. Next door is a recommended eatery - so - take a few hours to enjoy ALL there is on offer on this little patch of Maitland Road.

Poor quality over stocked “vinnies “ quality store. Had the front door closed in my face on Saturday as the blonde women wanted to close the store early. Purchased $2100 worth of antiques across the road at a genuine antique store.

Great variety of antiques and collectables. However staff were not particularly welcoming and it was pretty insulting that they took turns following myself and my partner around the various areas of the shop. It was like they were expecting us to smash open their cabinets for us to make our getaway with their overpriced items!
