For just over a year we have used Nathan (Geeks to the Rescue) to help with installing our internet security / virus protection software and giving our home office systems a tune up. At the most recent visit (his first visit after the initial one 13 months ago) following his advice, we changed the provider of our internet security / virus protection which meant an uninstall / install across both laptops. Laptop A appeared to be operating perfectly, while Laptop B seemed to be making sounds like it was working too hard. Nathan spent extra time making sure that it wasn't the new software causing the problem and trying to isolate what caused it.In the week after Nathan left, it was Laptop A that started to slow down. Simple things like renaming a file was taking longer and these sorts of things got progressively worse across the next couple of weeks. After a couple of days of crashes / freezes and having to manually power down and restart I was becoming very frustrated and losing hours and hours of work time. In my mind Laptop A was in fine form before the new software and now it wasn’t.I contacted Nathan in a somewhat exasperated form and expressed my concern about the newly installed software, questioning our decision and what could we do about it. I knew that it could be that something just coincidentally happened to Laptop A close to the time we made this change, but for me, the new software seemed the likely culprit as Laptop A was performing perfectly well. Nathan’s response was spot on! By talking of his experience with the product but at the same time not dismissing my concern, we devised a way to check if it was the new software before a callout was necessary as the things I was experiencing could also be a hard drive failure. Based on it potentially being a HDD problem, I continued to do my own homework while we did this, checking our 2 internal drives and our external backup system (with cloning capacity) as I didn’t want to uninstall a product that was perfectly fine.The result – it was the external backup drive that caused the problem. Since disconnecting it 24 hours ago, not one lag or crash in that time. Thanks Nathan, for your patience, your time in reviewing the photos and video I sent through and your guidance. I strongly recommend Nathan for anyone wanting a trustworthy, professional who goes the extra mile for his clients.Good result. Now to buy a new external hard drive!

I needed someone to help me set up my new Lenovo laptop. Nathan was recommended to me by a friend. He was very accommodating as I had to change our appointment three times due to other conflicting appointments. Very happy with his professional service and advice. He also has made himself available for follow up assistance if required (not required at this stage).p.s. Nathan comes with a cardigan and black-rimmed glasses which gave me an additional level of confidence in his technological expertise (not sure how to do a smiley face on my laptop yet!)
