The best at Hobart .. People!, my wife and friends describe me as someone hard to please .. so let me explain the 5 stars I have given .. .. On our last day at your hotel we met Christine in the lift wiping the lift with all her might. I paid her compliments for the effort she was putting in and she told me she loved the hotel and she had been at the hotel for 19 years. I asked her if the hotel had been as immaculate all these years, to which she replied Weellllllll.. only since Ralph took it over 9 years ago. He has done a lot for the hotel."Well done Ralph! You are running a fabulous establishment mate and that too a landmark hotel

Exquisitely located hotel with superb harbour views, generously large and well-appointed room, and the service from staff is outstanding. I have nothing but praise for this hotel, there are so many little touches that made my stay luxurious and memorable.For example, the TV in my room is enormous, and even though the pillows are perfectly to my liking, I think it's awesome that a pillow menu is provided to suit people's individual preferences. The wifi is fast and stable, and one of the points I like best is the genuine commitment to the environment -- separate bins for trash, paper and glass recycling! Bravo, Grand Chancellor.This is definitely a hotel to which I shall return, and recommend to anyone visiting Hobart.

We loved our stay here. Very central and beautiful views. What a shame that some of the other guests were so entitled and rude to the very friendly and hard working staff. We were able to check in early from our flight from Melbourne and explore the markets. Highly recommend ✅

Lovely hotel. Went to a conference. Large air-conditioned room with massive round tables. Had internet issues with some presentations and linking to people in other states.The breakfast is typical of a hotel buffet style. priced, a little over but not greatly. Shame they charge more for speciality coffee, was surprised by that.

Nice hotel with a good pool. Really can't beat the location as you can walk anywhere in Hobart from here easily. It's starting to feel a bit dated but everything is well maintained and clean. We had a room on level 14 and the traffic noise was significant in the room.

We have had the most exceptional time at this hotel - start to finish we were treated like VIPS. A room upgrade surprise, the honeymoon suite. It had 2 rooms with a luxurious deep spa bath. The manager sent up to our room a bottle of sparkling wine - he found out it was my birthday. Our view over the harbour was supreme and the location is just a walk to everything. Highly recommend this old school welcome and hospitality, especially when many hotels and customer service are cutting corners these days

We stayed at room 1221 over the weekend and it was absolutely lovely staying there. Location was close to everything. The view was amazing. Room was very good size for twin deluxe.Their shower gel and lotion smells amazing. The bathroom needed a bath mat i think to prevent slips for safety purposes.

Enjoyed our stay. Service is great. The staff are welcoming at check in and check out. Beautiful views and it was great having an indoor heated pool to swim in. The room is very clean, roomy and comfortable. Location is convenient and parking was easy and good value.
