Blue Lake Holiday Park

absolutely loved our stay at blue lake. facilities were well looked after and the staff were all so warm and welcoming.kids enjoyed the games room and the playground.can't wait to visit again in the future

The park is right above the main blue lake, and just a short drive into town.The staff are friendly and helpful.Unfortunately we stayed before the heated pool was finished, and the jumping pillow is no longer in operation.

We have stayed at this park many times and love the location and facilities. However during our recent stay, despite booking six months ahead as we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in Mt Gambier with family, for a particular ensuite site to be close to family staying in nearby cabin, we were bumped to another site further away, which was totally unsuitable. Not only was this very disappointing, staff were not apologetic, simply giving some lame excuse re their booking system not locking down our booking (surely not). In the end we chose for a normal site near the cabin.Yes the jumping pillow wasn't working due to damage and insurance issues.The other issue, outside control of the park operators, was the very poor air quality we encountered in Mt Gambier. A number of the timber factories were pumping out lots of smoke which hung around the town due to lack of wind.

Amazing location, close to blue lake and valley lake. Facilities were well looked after and the staff were all so warm and welcoming. The camp area might be safer if they paid more attention to certain restrictions, such as dogs must remain on a leash, because some people may be uncomfortable with unleashed dogs, have allergies, etc.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin (54) and it was clean, modern, comfortable and spacious. The heating was brilliant during a very cold, rainy weekend, beds were comfortable and the shower was perfect. There was even a spa and a TV in every bedroom in addition to the main living room. Will definitely be back in future. I loved that we were in walking distance of the Blue Lake and surrounding parks and trails too.

This place is first class. Friendly reception is always a good start then the map and signage to the cabin was good. The budget cabin is Immaculate. Can't fault it at all. Heaps of room for a family of 5 and the location next to Valley and Blue Lake is hard to beat. Still only 3 mins drive to town as well. Definitely be back here.

We stay in a 2 bedroom bungalow each time we come down. Whilst a little more expensive than other caravan parks in the area it is worth it for the amazing customer service, the clean and well maintained grounds and the great accommodation. We had an issue with our bathroom light tripping the other lights in the cabin, we rang the after hours number and someone was there within minutes to check it out. Our son loves the games room and the play area. Unfortunately they are currently building a new pool so we were unable to utilise it this time around however we are excited to use it next year!

3.5/5The location is fantastic right across from the Blue Lake which is why we chose to stay here. They do have a variety of accommodation choices. Unfortunately when we stayed the jumping pillow was not in operation and the pool was under construction. We made use of the playground but not much else there for the kids. I'm sure it would be better when everything is open.

My review probably doesn't represent the majority of what this camping/vacation site offers, but as someone who visited in a different way to most, I thought it should mention my experience (being a solo bikepacking camper).There was nothing really wrong with anything, and it was grateful for the ability to wait out a few days of terrible weather in the camp kitchen using the facilities, but it must be said you get little value bringing in a small 2m tent with no vehicle, and no saving anything to do so. I may as well have had an entire site to myself, and I wouldn't have had to live with the night lights that lit up the whole of the open communal grassed/camping area at night - making sleep difficult.This isn't a problem that is limited to this caravan park, but unfortunately is a fairly common state of affairs. Paying $40 per night for what amounts to a shower and small patch of grass is not great value compared to those who come in cars/big tents/caravans and pay about the same (or even less if multiple people). I just wish there was a lower rate for those who are having less impact on those around them and using less space. I've stayed in places that offer $10-15 for a night once they realise I'm just on a bike with a tent and this is much appreciated.Often we get in late, have a shower, sleep quickly and quietly and then are gone before you're even up - these fees are too high for that, and only encourages people to sleep elsewhere or use facilities for free, which isn't great for anyone.I would rethink using this or similar parks unless you can negotiate before-hand. It's a great location, and the staff were friendly, but this is ultimately still an issue that can't be ignored.

I come here every year for baseball Very good customer service can't fault at all .great location my child loved the play area/gaming room very highly recommend. Definitely coming back next year
