Our Metung Stays | Mountford Cottage

We had the most lovely stay at Mountford Cottage. Everything was 100/100 from start to finish. Stunning location, comfortable bedding & the fire & fire pit were perfect for a winter get away! Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in the area.

From the moment we walked into Mountford Cottage we were delighted with the lovely welcoming details, the spotless condition and stylish decor and furnishings. The bed was super comfortable with quality linen, the kitchen a delight to use and the cottage was a lovely place to come back to while exploring the area. Breakfast provisions were much appreciated also. The cottage is picture perfect and we would love to return one day.

Just a five-minute drive to the magnificent new Metung Hot Springs and the main town center just down the road has all your holiday needs! Great Beach Pub and views, boardwalks, jetties, cafes, gourmet pizza (delicious) a general store and if you time it right a Farmers Market! Don’t forget to get yourself to Lake Tyers - another family friendly pub with the famous 90 Mile Beach just across the road where blue sky and Gunai Kurnai sea meet the horizon.We had a magnificent time, sitting and staring, bike riding; marveling at the birdlife; picking strawberries from the garden; enjoying the outdoor bath …(yes outdoor bath); and the gifts of local produce upon arrival at the house were appreciated too. Had the most beautiful stay in Mountford Cottage.The cottage is spotlessly clean.Outdoor bath was luxurious, and the outdoor fire pit was fantastic with a glass of wine.The supplied breakfast lasted us 3 mornings, and any little condiments that you always manage to forget when on holidays are there already supplied.If you love golf, the cottage is a short drive to the golfcourse.Communication from Paula was exceptional.Can't wait to visit again.

We had a lovely weekend stay in an idyllic and immaculate cottage. The cottage was so beautifully styled, extremely clean, comfortable and has everything you would need. Every detail in the Cottage has been thoroughly thought out and the complimentary welcome pack was outstanding. Our host Paula was very helpful in communicating and provided us great suggestions to do and eat in the area. Highly recommend.

My fiancé and I stayed at Mountford Cottage in September 2022. What an absolutely beautiful cottage. It was perfect! An amazing wood fire, a very tastefully decorated living area with many throwbacks to vintage life through the use of antique furniture and a very modern kitchen and bathroom.The cottage is very cosy, there is a wood fire heater with plenty of firewood, newspaper and matches to get you going. The living area also has a split system if a fire isn't your thing.The shower is incredible; great pressure and temperature. The garden is lovely, with a unique outside bath, perfect when filled with bubbles and enjoyed with a glass of red!Paula, the host, was very friendly to communicate with, keeping in regular contact and clearly someone who takes great pride in providing not just a lovely place to stay but an experience that can be enjoyed by a couple, a small family or some friends, with two bedrooms; the master being a generous size and the guest bedroom being a good size, too.The accommodation has a laundry room, handy if you're staying several nights and need to wash your holiday slacks!If you're staying in the Metung and Lakes Entrance area, you really should stay here. It's absolutely beautiful. Contemporary mixed with modern and a few touches of opulence.

This is a beautiful place to stay. It is so close to the Hot Springs. The bed was very comfy, their attention to detail was impressive, and they even supplied a bag of popcorn! Will definitely stay here again.

A beautiful getaway with lovely extra touches such as breakfast provided made this the perfect place to stay. We loved the outdoor bath, comfy beds and bikes provided for our use. Highly recommended and we’ll be back when next visiting Metung.

As other reviewers have noted, the cottage excels in comfort, styling and detailing. The location is quiet and away from the village centre but it's possible to walk to the centre via Beach Road. There's also the Wallaby Creek walking track quite near the cottage. For catering, we found the local store provided a good selection of fresh food and the kitchen was well equipped (the quality frypan was welcome, having stayed in other places where the pans are often small and warped).
