Citymove Removals

2018 - This is the second time I have used Citymove. In 2016 I was very happy. It seems by the other reviews that their standards have dropped dramatically in the past 2 years. This time their professionalism was non-existant. The SubContrators they used were careless, rough and they lied about it. They scratched most of my furniture and gouged a whole in my leather couch. And even broke a large branch off the neighbors tree. I have complained in 2 different ways 4 times and not once I have I heard back. I will never recommend this company again. Extremely UNHAPPY

Less than 24 hours prior to the move, I contacted them to confirm my job. I was informed that all was in place for 8am - 3 men and an 8T truck. A few hours later, I received a call telling me that hey could no longer do the job but they could subcontract my job to another company who could do it for me. Not thrilled and left with no other option, I agreed. The job was completed fine (with 2 x $t trucks and a lot of unnecessary stress) and cost me over $1,200. But here's the kicker.... Citymove then charged my credit card $50 for a referral fee! BEWARE of booking with Citymove. They are a glorified agent for other removals companies and make money by on-charging a fee to unsuspecting Clients left with no other options.

Called CityMove for same day due to other removalist failing to show up. Phyllyphy and his mate came in the afternoon following advance notice through sms before arriving. Our one-bedroom stuffs were packed into the 4-tonne truck within 30 mins including big stuffs such as fridge,bed,sofa,washing machine,2x study desk. All through the process they worked efficiently and with care. Start and stop time were agreed to before being logged on their iphone app. Will definitely recommend to others! Our 5km move was complete in 1.5 hours.

Moving is a big stressful event, and as such you’d expect poor experiences during the move would be par for the course. During my move, the event went very well and the staff were great - it was what happened after the move that really let the company down. It started when they double charged us for the move, for me accidents happen and I’m happy to work through it, but after multiple calls (14 over 2.5 weeks) and emails (including to the CEO), we have never had anyone contact us to even discuss it, let alone investigate and credit the extra charge. They just seem to not consider their customers after they have got your money, and after being patient I’m at a loss to understand what I can even do in this situation - it feels like they are not contacting us as they hope we will go away and they get to keep the money ($2.2k+ by the way). Anyway, I would not recommend dealing with them at all, not because solely of my experience, but because it’s apparent the company’s corporate staff just don’t care.

Professional, efficient, careful, HARDWORKING, and well priced. I have used excess of 8 removalist companies in the past and these guys were by far the best. When being charged an hourly rate, as a consumer you want to know that the guys are working for that period... they literally did not stop. On this occasion I used Citymove, I was handling the move on my own as my fiancé was away. The three gentlemen who handled my move made sure that all the furniture was carefully removed, and placed exactly how I wanted it at the other end, even re-arranging furniture to try different arrangements, and all with great enthusiasm. While I hope to not move for a long time, I would highly recommend these guys for your next move!

We have used other removalist that had hidden cost and service was slow. CityMove were not only very affordable, but were quick and professional with delivery. We were so impressed with communication & service from start to finish, that we will be using them in the future and recommend CityMove to others.

Very unhappy experience. I asked if they can move piano with 4-5 steps and they said yes. But they didn't send the truck with right equipment that can move piano at that day and I have to leave my piano in my old house.I called them again and they told me they can only move pianos within 3 steps. Why didn't tell me at the very beginning? I will try other company if they cannot do that.Besides, they failed to fasten wash machine to the tap and it leaks hard. I have to by a wrench and fasten by myself.Furthermore, because the truck they sent is too small, they have to push hard to put everything onto truck, and some of my plants was damaged during movement..

I used CityMove for interstate backloading service. All the specific requirements of my move were agreed on in writing prior to my upfront payment for the service. On moving day this was all reneged due to their incompetent management. Only half my move was completed, the other half had to be moved 2 weeks later when I had already relocated interstate. This amongst all the damage done to my items. As they already had my money they had no urgency to assist me and would flick pass my calls to different people at their call centre each time, as no one had the decency to resolve the various issues I had. They would not accept any responsibility or provide any compensation for their own mistakes, which was the worst thing of all.

I moved recently, requested a quote and was advised a 3 bedroom townhouse should only be around 4-5 hours max. Was also told there would be no additional charges and that the price quoted was a flat rate. 8.5 hours later, the driver then asked for my credit card details and reviewed the charges. He added wraps and lifts. The service was so slow and unorganised. 1 person sat on the truck the entire time while the other guy moved stuff. They didn’t work together in an efficient manner. When I called to complain and question the additional charges, the lady I spoke to apologised and said she would talk to her manager and get back to me. I called her back 4 times. I am still waiting a reply. It’s been 3 months!Use a more professional mover! I would never recommend these people to anybody. EVER!

Straight off the bat, if you’re considering who to go with for your move, I’d suggest looking elsewhere...Credit where credit’s due, the subcontractors (yes, the removalists aren’t actually employed by the company, something we only discovered when they arrived) Citymove organised for our move were punctual, friendly, and courteous.What has made the experience thoroughly regrettable is both the lack of care our possessions were afforded, and the general attitude of the company when things go wrong. Casualties of our (very expensive) move were a vintage, solid travertine coffee table and a mid-century wooden credenza, both which were broken simply because the movers didn’t ask how they should be handled.And now, after multiple emails and phone calls, Citymove is still yet to accept fault or offer any sort of compensation. Accidents do happen, but the “ignore it and it will go away” attitude we’ve received from everyone I’ve spoken to has been beyond frustrating and appalling.We will never be moving with Citymove again, and if I could go back in time and stop myself from even booking with them in the first place, I wouldn’t hesitate.
