Do not use Tilford. After years of servicing our car, a particular engine part repeatedly presented as problematic. After paying nearly $2000 to get it fixed it failed again 6 months later. It was identified by an independent mechanic (having a brief look at it. No servicing by that mechanic took place) that the Tilford mechanics had missed an original problem that should have been addressed the first time. Tilford were going to refuse to accept fault and only at the discussion of escalating the complaint did Tilford accept responsibility. Again not long after the sensor of the same part presented a problem, and again Tilford said the part would need to be replaced. Yet again this would mean us being thousands of dollars out of pocket. We parted ways with Tilford at this point and went to another mechanic. The new mechanic fixed the issue without having to replace the part (few hundred dollars to fix instead of being of being in the thousands as Tilford were suggesting) and addressed the fault, and now the car runs better than ever. After this experience with Tilford, my main concern is how lacking the quality of the servicing has been over all the years we used Tilford for, and what potential internal engine damage was caused by this part not being addressed properly from the beginning. To re-iterate my point, at all costs, avoid Tilford for servicing your car.

Not sure what happened to my review. We visited here while travelling in Tasmania earlier this year. Needed a warranty issue dealt with and organised for mid service as well, unfortunately initially they did the paid work but not the warranty. Thankfully once I asked for a manager the warranty was agreed to but meant having to return.Nathan the service manager stepped up after initial problems and went above and beyond in getting warranty sorted and extra problems discovered. Disappointing start but ultimate result was very good.

They rip their customers. I went for coolant leakage problem, they fixed it for 815$ and wrote a note in future return line hose need change, 2 days later there was still leakage and charged me another 348$ just to fix return line hose, where parts cost was only 80$. And still they say they have warranty. If i could, i would give them 0/5.

Difficult mechanical problem whilst travelling with limited time to get back to the mainland ferry. Ford dealership immediately made time to review the problem and managed to facilitate a fix within 24 hours and we were on our way. Thank you Tilford very much. Highly recommended.

their sales team is pathetic. they have attitude issues. knowing their local monopoly they are only interested in the price they quote which will generally be 5-10k over the price you would get anywhere else. say half the sentence trying to negotiate price their face will turn red and happily show you way out saying buy it from there. been taking my business to mainland for years for this issue. business monopolies like these make it hard for locals in tasmania with their greed and unjust profit margins. you either pay them 8k over the price or buy from mainland and have a short holiday bringing vehicle over with the money you save for not buying from them. only if i could give them -5/5

Tilford staff know their products well and their customer service is excellent. I have my eye on purchasing a four wheel drive and I have been welcomed warmly each time. Anton is a friendly guy who allows me to ask constant questions without any problem. I will definitely buy from Tilfords when I have decided what car suits my needs best. I like their honesty and integrity.

Absolutely first class support during my recent warranty repair. Great communication, friendly and efficient staff who really made me feel glad about dealing with Tilford. Nice to know that if something goes wrong, I can count on them.
