Jacobs Creek Retreat

This is possibly my favorite place in the world. 10 minutes from Tanunda in the heart of the Barossa Valley, down a narrow dirt country road, is Jacobs Creek Retreat. Nothing to do with the famous Winery, this is a little piece of French Chateau in the heart of South Australia. Each native stone room is part of the original faming houses and have been superbly restored. The entire place would sleep no more than 20 people.The grounds and rooms are an incredibly hard to achieve combination of Australian native wildness and manicured to within an inch of its life, French Chateau. The luxury os each room is undertated and yet still reflects the more than 150 year old frontier history of the location.If you ever want to holiday in the Barossa, this is absolutely the place to stay.

Booked a trip here for mum’s 70th and it was exquisite. Peaceful and charming. The swimming pool and gardens are wonderful. Jerry and the team are the perfect balance of being attentive and highly responsive whilst allowing guests total peace and autonomy! We had a great time and couldn’t recommend Jacob’s Creek Retreat more highly as a place to base yourself when leisurely exploring all the Barossa has to offer

Stunning!! Stayed in Orlando suite!! Amazing!! The grounds are simply beautiful!! Only thing missing was breakfast! I recommend you arrange something in advance to avoid a wine tour without something in your stomach. Would 100% visit this amazing property again!

We had a great time at Jacob’s Creek Retreat. The accomodation and grounds were lovely and relaxing. Only a short drive to all of the near by wineries. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

This accommodation was gorgeous. We had a glass of wine at the pavilion (free of charge for guests) and also walked over to the cellar door onsite (Moorooroo Park Vineyards) and enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere provided by the owners. Sat by the fire and chatted to our hosts who were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. Took their home made soup back to our room for a tasty dinner. Highly recommend this accommodation in the beautiful Barossa Valley. Gardens were lovely and room comfortable and felt like a home away from home. Can't wait to go back again.

We really enjoyed our stay! The gardens were wonderful and bed was exceptionally comfortable. Loved the nature and birds chirping around, felt like a getaways to an Italian small villa.

The nightly charge of $349 was way over the top for the cedar “suite”. It is in fact a small dark bedroom with a garish bathroom and sunken bath attached. I cannot comment about the other suites but this one is to be avoided.

What a lovely escape. Only 2 nights but what a location and the gardens and pool area were well maintained. Able to go to a good range of wineries which were all close by.Rooms were well presented.Two thumbs up...

The grounds were stunning and magical. We stayed in the Orchid King Suite, arrived to find heating, lights and music channel on which was a great touch, made it comfortable and inviting. The room also smelt great. Suite itself (WOW) was regal, royal, elegant and classy. Loved the huge spa, the window next to our spa was great, we loved being able to open that up and have some cooler fresh air around us while we soaked in the hot tub, was nice to have the candles there too. Bed also comfortable and lovely. Room fixtures and character was gorgeous. Thank you Jerry for being friendly and helpful & the sparkling wine, cheese platter, fresh muffins etc, YUM. Wish we could have stayed longer.
