Highly recommended lawyer. He is the best !I initially lodged my building defect claim with NCAT by myself against the Sydney’s one of the biggest and reputed builder. The builder hired a biggest law firm of Australia against us. After two hearings at NCAT, I understood that I must hire and seek advice from the lawyer. I met few law firms but I found in their first meeting that they were not efficient.I met Mr. Birch on initial meeting, Mr. Birch assessed all my claim and evidences quickly and gave me precise advice and risks associated with my application at NCAT. Despite of big law firm against us, Mr. Birch proceeded our case with detailed knowledge and applied law correctly and efficiency. He removed lots of my claims that may go against us and only strict to the items they were likely to win in our favor. He also warned us that if we make unnecessary claims, we may have to pay huge cost of builder’s time and cost. On the other hand, he also advised that if we successful, we can claim part of our cost of litigation.At the NCAT hearing, the law firm had 5 solicitors and builders’ representatives. At NCAT, Mr. Michael had pressed effective arguments for 2 days.It was a risk of cost as well and who ever wins the case, the opponent pays his cost of litigation. Michael has precisely and smartly act in our case. And guess What? The case was in our favor. We won!!! The builder was order to pay us our defect claim. Additionally, the builder was also ordered to pay my cost of litigation.He also used his expertise and applied law to cover up my cost from the builder. My almost cost of Mr. Birch is also recovered from the builder. This is only because of Mr. Birch’s expertise in the Home Building matters. He delivered as he told from day one !!The team of Mr. Birch is also very friendly always replied quickly. I spent many hours researching building and construction lawyers to represent me after a troublesome build and settlement experience. After reading the case studies on the Birch Partners website I put Michael Birch at the top of my list of who to contact. From the first phone call I knew I was on to a winner. Michael quickly understood the essence of my case and he proceeded to describe potential scenarios that could play out, the pros and cons and most important how to set up a rock-solid strategy for success. Central to the strategy was engaging an NCAT expert witness early on. The one Michael Birch engaged was very very good and reasonably priced. A total of 93 defects were identified, and the repair cost estimate was $94,000. The builder was slow and made a point of repairing the least expensive defects first and delaying the expensive defects. This led to action through NCAT. Ultimately, we had a win in NCAT, the cost recovery was the very best the law could provide and all major defects and the vast majority of other defects were completed. Michael’s approach was highly effective at minimising my costs and getting the best possible cost recovery. I have great regard for Michael’s work ethic, approach and expertise and I highly recommend him to those looking for a titan in building and construction law.
