I am a Registered Nurse and I was disgusted by the poor quality care. Do not go to this hospital! I was subjected to verbal abuse, multiple medication errors, and the services offered were not to the standard of even a poor quality private hospital. No respect for patients, failure to report adverse incidents, and many, many non conformances with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. I will be reporting the organisation to several government agencies.

Absolutely shocked at how poor some of the staff treat patients here. Went without food multiple times and when i placed food in the patient's fridge, it was thrown out before i had a chance to eat it.I complained about excruciating chest pain and was left laying in my bed with no response for over an hour. When this was brought up to the nursing staff, it was made into a joke. Lucky i didnt have a serious heart problem and died.I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

The nurses, doctors and support staff have been wonderful. We had a few issues the first couple of days but the rest of the time has been really good. It would be five stars if they did not monitor the 4 visitors per day limit so strictly. There should be flexibility when it comes to immediate family members. A patient can get 4 short visits in the first hour and then they are allowed no more for the remaining four hours.

Recently our 90 yr old mother spent 40 days in rehab at Toronto Private after having previously been in hospitals for fifteen weeks for all but one week since June 7. The care, support and medical expertise she received took her from being virtually unable to do anything to being released to Independent Respite Care with a road map home. I would rate every aspect of Toronto Private as of the highest quality especially their nursing staff and the amazing Dr Oakley.

Nursing staff are the only reason I would consider revisiting Toronto Private The team who cared for me were friendly approachable and compassionate. The quality and variety of food and amenities are sadly dragging the standards down below average. The hot water is turned off between 8.30 pm and 7.am don’t have night sweats! If you do manage to get a warm shower, be aware that your bathroom floor may flood as 8 out of 10 drains don’t work. Most of my stay I had ‘cup of soup meals ‘ I had bought in or take away. These are but a few anomalies I found peculiar for an expensive ‘private’ hospital.

My husband was recently admitted to the Pallative Care Unit at Toronto Private Hospital. The staff were amazing. They treated John with dignity and kept him pain free. They helped our family cope through a very difficult time.

I have been a patient of Toronto Private Hospital for many years and I have never had reason to complain about any part of this Hospital function. It has always provided me with best care and support and upon discharge they have followed up with a courtesy call to see how I am going.

Doctor prescribed drug with potentially deadly side effects without informing patient that he was prescribing anything at all, let alone warning of side effectsNursing unit manager ignored complaints about an aggressive patient for 3 weeks, and failed to expel the aggressive patient from hospital after they initiated a violent physical incidentVery ill patient was discharged without necessary medications and no prescriptions for those medications. These medications have withdrawal symptoms including psychosis and death.Patient was waiting to see the doctor, and was then told they had 5 minutes to leave, on the whim of the Administrations Officer.I would rate this hospital as being very close in care standards to the Marter Hospital. The only real differences were slightly better food, walks to the lake, and a TV which was impossible to watch due to the nearby ping pong table being constantly in use.Do not let anyone you love come to this hospital. The other side of the lake is a much nicer, more therapeutic environment.

Father in law had a stay of 6 days. Treated well. The staff were pretty good and I found parking each time. He thought the food was good and they were always helpful. It was good from a patient and visitor perspective.
