Greater Shepparton City Council

This is the worst council I’ve ever seen, so money hungry, and does hardly nothing good for people but did lots of stupid things.Bloody cold & ruthless, we really need to muster some guts to fight this useless council.

Would be great if the city council for once listened to what we want. They do everything backwards and expect that residents just put up with the decisions they make which are against what we want. The town looks sad and run down and the cbd is lacking character and there are so many empty shops. All that and not to mention the process and price of accessing permits plus the long wait of getting them emailed. It cost me hundreds to get it all sent to me

Shep shire need to understand the law correctly and not follow unwritten acts

I find it appalling that this council can breach the privacy of an individual simply because that individual did not agree with councils desire to build a social housing cluster. And what were the consequences of council breaching privacy? All they had to do was admit they breached privacy. No repercussions, no penalty. And council get their social housing cluster.Several days after writing my google review I received a call from my employer advising council had contacted him about the review. He asked me to remove it. I advised the review was my only voice in this matter. That my privacy was breached and council admitted so. And there were no consequences for their actions. I refused to remove the review. My employer then suggested it might be better if I was to finish up my employment that day. Council had put pressure on my employer because they don't want people knowing how they operate.

I was there beside my car, and I got a parking fine, the officer even apologized that it was a mistake, I made the appeal, but they still ask me to pay the fine. I WAS THERE WITH MY CAR because I stopped for 2 minutes to look around for available parking space.That’s how this council treat their people, all they care is how to get money out of your pocket, well, do something for people with that money though ?

The surveying department is a disgrace ,they are short of staff but the process of trying to get a building permit is a complete nightmare . Lack of information and processes to obtain is not there . They don't reply to emails never in the office and don't return calls ,tell you one thing but then change the processes when it suits . The rates have gone up again even after calls from businesses to hold back because of the current situation . But no ,drive around the town public areas are over grown and disgusting ,they can't even keep the grass down at the transfer station, when i was out there a week ago it was over 6 ft high . And the councillors out spruking what a great job their doing. Dam disgrace

I am not at all impressed that the GSCC has just spent $100,000 on two electric vehicles, did that come out of our rate money? There are so many more important local issues that should be addressed, yet you are still unable to head in the right direction of what the community truly needs. Shepparton is heading towards a dark future, with a crime rate that is climbing, employment rates sloping, businesses going under and rates/fees that keep increasing. These issues are now near impossible to fix, but don't worry as the new art museum and new electric vehicles will fix everything, right? The roads that need drastic improvement are left untouched, whilst pointless ones are getting repaired. This city council is in desperate need of an overhaul, I see a lack of common sense coming from the councillors and a large warrant of improvement is needed as soon as possible. I fear the future of this city.

The council really needs to shape up. The architecture is a mixed bag and makes the town look messy, we had many beautiful old buildings that have been pulled down over the years and replaced with big monstrosities. The rates keep going up but the town doesn’t improve.

I feel Shepparton is the most money hungry region I have moved too, only been here for 3 months, and already so disappointed. In a number of things.Parking ticket is one I’m sorry but 1.60 for an hour and a 95 dollar fine .. not really a community if you ask me more a council wants your money , also if other regions can offer free parking I don’t see why Shepparton needs to be so money hungry for you to park . No wonder the street is dead and shops are closing .Where do you spend all the parking meter money and fines is what i would like to know? As I could only imagine the amount of money you get a year .Can see by reading reviews that maybe Shepparton need to take a look into some other regions and take some notes .
