Grace Removals

Update: I contacted the email they left below and they promptly called me. They said they would get back to me after doing further searches and then they didn't! I still don't have my things or compensation for them.The inventory assessment man did not show up at the first appointment, which was frustrating as I was staying up after night shift. He showed up the next time. The packer was fine, though he packed some things he wasn't meant to.Then I had been told that I could easily access my belongings in storage, which is not true. You need an appointment and the time frames are small. The customer service at the Hobart branch scales from bad to acceptable. Then when transferring my belongings to my new state, they lost several of the items including some which were irreplaceable. They were logged in my inventory so I'm not sure how that happened. Other items were damaged. This was surprising for the price that they were charging for the small number of belongings I had (just one room). After many emails and calls, which were often unanswered, they offered me a small amount of compensation. I managed to negotiate for more but ultimately I wanted my things back. I went to the ombudsman and was then contacted by an East coast manager who said he would perform a new search and get back to me. He never did, and he left no contact details.

TL;DR the worst removal experience I’ve ever encountered. Do not ever even consider using Grace. UPDATE: zero contact despite their message below wanting to make contact. Apparently, they only care about customer service when you negatively review us.Grace quoted on moving our house contents. They could also start the move in three weeks time and could store until we found a new house. The quote wasn’t cheap but they are a “name” brand and we were in a hurry.The packers turn up and say that there is too much for allocated time & call in more people. During the packing we’re told that all the containers in our pantry couldn’t be packed because of their contents (flour, rice, …). So we dispose of them, containers and all. Later we’re told they could have be packed.Many items which weren’t meant to be packed were. The worst, our neighbours pressure cleaner. Too late to undo apparently. Many calls later they promise to replace our neighbour’s pressure cleaner. Three months later, our neighbour calls and says the pressure cleaner hasn’t been replaced. More calls and it is eventually done.The tail end of the packing arrives and they are obviously rushing. Things are not being properly wrapped or wrapped at all. Drawers full of small parts are put into boxes with their contents untouched. One is even put in on its side which, unsurprisingly, resulted in a monumental mess when we unpacked it. My wife, on crutches and in pain, is pressured into hastily signing off. The next day we find and pack over two cartons of missed items.Then came a request for more money due to the extra volume even though we'd reduced the amount since the quote, it was their mistake in quoting, they packed items that shouldn’t have been and despite it being a fixed price contract.At the destination unloading is efficient. The contractual unpack to benches part doesn’t happen. If a reasonable effort had been made to unpack, we’d have been happy even if not everything could be unpacked. As it was, essentially no effort was put into unpacking.We unpack. Grace packed a bottle of concentrated sulphuric acid (which cracked on delivery and leaked damaging other things), caustic soda crystals, pressurised spray cans and flammable liquids. Much more dangerous than flour or rice.When finished unpacking we ask Grace to remove the debris as per the contract. We are told when a truck is near. In our case near would be most of the north half of Tasmania. Six weeks pass and no debris collection despite several calls, so we give up waiting and remove the debris ourselves.We contacted Grace asking for some compensation for all the problems but we are ignored.Grace promises a “stress free” moving experience, which is the opposite of what we had.In summary:* Grace got the moving part right* Grace is very good at sending bills and receiving payment* Grace underestimated the volume and would not accept that it was their mistake* Grace packed and moved a number of items which were not meant to be packed and moved* Grace packed downright dangerous items which should never have been packed* Grace charged beyond the fixed price contract despite it being their mistake* Grace rushed the packing and didn’t pack properly* Grace’s folks didn’t know what could and could not be packed* Grace didn’t unpack on delivery as contracted* Grace didn’t remove the debris* Grace was unresponsive and unhelpful when contactedDo not ever even consider using Grace.

DisGRACEful is what they should be called. Delivery took more than twice as long as initially told. Half of the boxes look like an elephant had sat on them. A chest of drawers has been dropped multiple times and is beyond repair, absolutely destroyed. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

If you engage Grace removals Hobart to relocate, under no circumstances should you allow them to pack fragile items. The amount of breakage caused by rough handling, poor packing and improper lading procedures beggars belief. The crew responsible for unloading the container at the destination just shook their heads in disbelief at the way things had been packed, with no obvious care whatsoever. Household items and computer equipment smashed beyond repair due to no protective packing at all, just thrown into the back of the truck.Should you have the misfortune to deal with the singularly unhelpful Ms Ripper, you will be more likely to win first division in Lotto every week for a year than you will of getting her to return a phone call or reply to emails; it's just not going to happen.

Had two shipping containers delivered to Hobart.ZERO communication - The first time arranged a time for container to be dropped off in Hobart, this was confirmed the day before delivery. No-show on day of delivery, and was left waiting at delivery location all-day with no contact. Rang them in afternoon and the truck had broken down" - with audible sounds of a bong being smoked in the background.Second container still not delivered. Rang them several times to organise a time

Very professional service offered by the Grace team in Hobart. Correctly estimated the volume of the move and diligently and carefully loaded of furniture, boxes and other goods. A bit of a glitch with the delivery in Adelaide but in the scheme of things, not a big issue. All unpacked and settled. Thanks Grace .

Can't say anything about value, since I haven't seen the invoice, yet.Grace was most accommodating, since I didn't know where I was going to until the day after the removal.I couldn't make the team that collected the furniture. Efficient, courteous, friendly without being chummy.The team that delivered was just as efficient, courteous and friendly. They were very helpful; particularly, since the new residence is significantly smaller and we had to figure out how to accommodate everything.The only points of criticism would be that the gentlemen forgot to- connect the freezer and switch on the powerpoint for the washing machine. Those powerpoints are way beyond my reach.- put the shelves back into the cabinet. That however, was merely an inconvenience.I'd highly recommend Grace anytime.

I was impressed by how well things were packed, transported & most importantly delivered. I was kept up to date with progress & my enquiries were given full explanations. The boxes were delivered undamaged and items inside were in good condition exactly as they had been packed. They delivered my stuff at the right time & were well mannered & polite. Brilliant job. Thanks for a great experience. I'd definitely do it again with Grace.

Wouldn't recommend these guys at all, once Sam left everything went to S... Then the poor delivery drivers copped it because they were the ones in the field.The people that you don't see (managers) had absolutely no idea. Mucked up our storage delivery then charged a copious amount to get the rest out. DisGRACEful. 1 star because can't give 0 stars. Never again would I use these guys, unless Sam came back.

Poorest quality service I have ever had at both ends with Grace . Sam was so Rude I could not believe what I was hearing and then I got the same from Andrea and neither of them are worried about being reprimanded for their poor service as they made this clear to me .Communication with the customer is non existent and they have no problem in giving you a mouthful of total rudeness even when it wasn’t asked for. I made an official complaint and apparently being short staffed is a good enough reason for poor service Never will I use this company again.So it’s now day 3 and no one from grace will return my calls or let me know when my belongings are going to arrive. I have been completely ghosted. I emailed my details as they requested below but still nothing. I guess they rely on people not reading the reviews
