Had a family lunch today. Ordered two steaks done medium. They turned up looking like pieces of leather the size of my palm. Limp salad and average chips for $38 each. Extremely disappointing. Won't eat there again.

I didn’t stay here as I live locally. I love this place but unfortunately the food is quite hit and miss. Dry chicken and hard potatoes tonight, with 4 beans and three half pieces of zucchini. Practically no sauce. I had the same dish two weeks ago and it was lovely. Best to go to the dumpling Van. They are consistent and lovely.

If you ever had the privilege of visiting this place when it was a local pub with live music (Jodi Phillis, about 2001?), you will mourn the stark loss of character of the interior of this venue. More like a conference centre inside, with large glass panels, low ceilings and grey everywhere, it does not scream “beachside hangs”. However the menu is varied and delicious, the selection of craft beers and wine list are impressive, and the service no nonsense. If you sit out doors in the daytime you will catch a view all the way up the coast to the Royal national park

Sunday Lunch. Fairly busy but not full. Ordered a starter of a cheese and pita bread and 4 main meals. Asked for starter before meals. Advised 1&1/2hr wait .That's fine.Buzzer went off all meals and starter ready for serving. They did offer to redo mains giving time to eat starter.ProblemsNo Pita Bread with StarterNo Avocado with Poke bowlPrawn Fettuccine $30 had only 3 prawns.Noticed another table had also sent back 2 dishes. Not going back there again.

We had a very memorable family gathering and brilliant day for my mum’s s 90th birthday celebration. Mum, family of all ages, and friends were thrilled with the room, magnificent views, food and fabulous service. The function organiser, management and staff were so helpful, considerate and professional. Compliments all round.

We booked an overnight mid week Winter escape package and stayed Monday night. The room was fine though the bathroom was showing signs of wear and tear. The view from the first floor North facing room provided some stunning sea views and was worth the price of admission. All my negative comments are reserved for the bistro, and they seem to be in line with a great deal of the bistro reviews. Our plan was to eat out but most of the local area was closed for Monday night. We ordered the bucket of tiger prawns and salt and pepper squid with salad sides. Both salads were dead on arrival; slimy blackened leaves and sunken tomatoes. The only salt and pepper on the industrial sized slabs of squid was applied by us. I returned the squid to the clearly disinterested Monday night kitchen staff who asserted that the salad is delivered fresh everyday. I asked for a refund and returned to my table. While I performed an autopsy on the prawn side salad the manager arrived with a refund. When I drew his attention to the pile of clearly gross salad, he stated that he was not an expert on food. I was perplexed so I asked him if he was a consumer of food and for his opinion on the state of the salad. His reply; I'm not a picky eater". At that point I thanked him for his assistance and returned the prawns (without asking for refund). On a side note it's a little cheap

Went to the hotel for a friend’s surprise milestone birthday in the Ocean View South Room. The room was set up beautifully, the views were spectacular, the food was sensational and plentiful. I did not eat from the buffet only from the trays that the staff bought around and it was all divine. Compliments to the chef(s). The only thing I would say was that the staff did not advice last drinks and then got slightly tetchy when asking everyone to leave and the security guard was a bit over the top

This place has stunning views and has been set up very well. We had a lunch with around 30 people on ling tables in the front section. It has sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and ocean. Parking was easy and the food was ready quickly. I ordered from the pizza section which is Woodfired and wasn't bad. You could choose to order from the standard bistro or dumplings which I'll try next time. This is worth a drive for the view alone though it can get very busy with lots of large groups and weddings so plan ahead.

Was very fortunate to get the last room available over the long weekend and it was really great value for money, super clean, all amenities you need, very cosy and the location is unsurpassed with sweeping views up and down the coastline, a 2 minute walk down to the beach or the headland walkway is just outside the entrance to the hotel. The quality of the food was excellent, really surprising and healthy options to suit the most fussy of eaters, was delicious. I will most definitely be returning!
