Broken Hill Outback View Holiday Park

We stayed at Outback View for 1 night - a lovely grass powered site. The staff were brilliant helping me with a water tap connection that I did not have the correct sized one. Great facilities - a little dated but v clean and worked perfectly. Heaps of Hills hoists for your washing and a massive washing machine. Easy checkin. Would definitely stay again.

Very inconsistent across staff members. The Gentleman was very friendly and accommodating but can’t say the same for other staff. Typical Aussie block. However that’s where the compliments stop. We live on a remote station and decided to stay in town rather than drive 3 hours home. We had an oversized trailer which was allowed after multiple calls and different answers and prices each time, very confusing. We have a 4 year old and 1 year old and told them that we would only require 3 beds due to their age and sleeping arrangements. We were not charged for our 1 year old however we’re very shocked to find the mattress on the top bunk removed (neither child is old enough for a top bunk anyway) and all utensils removed beyond 3 items. The labour to remove these would have been more time consuming than just to leave them. My 1 year old wouldn’t have used a glass or fork anyway. Beyond a joke.The room was dirty. Long black hairs over the floor and bathroom, I am platinum blonde and weren’t my own. The door was jammed and wouldn’t open wide enough to bring our pram into the room, I had to turn sideways to enter the room. There was also no batteries in the smoke alarm. We went down the street to get breakfast and came back to our room already stripped, before check out or keys returned.I was going to let our experience slide as it is new management possibly learning and by previous reviews has improved however upon reviewing my statements, we were charged more than discussed at check in.

We understand the park was very run down & new management took over July 2022 but.....Site boundaries need to be clearly marked. Had to request disgruntled neighbour to move his car from part of our site so we could get the van in. He wanted to park on an angle, not like most others alongside their awning if there was enough room, causing us to park our vehicle across half of other neighbours A frame. This wasn't acceptable to us so he moved. 3 other parties arriving after us also had to request people move vehicles.Some sites didn't allow room for a van awning & car space, hence they couldn't put their awning out.Our site (site 14) was extremely uneven & half of it very dusty with no grass. This caused more difficulties parking to enable unhitching & an area as safe as possible to park. I wasn't able to reach our awning washing line due to the uneven ditch under the awning. Our portable step required two 4 inch Redgum blocks to semi level the step. There was still a considerable height difference & still dangerous stepping off the step into a hole taking care not to twist ankle.The site needs fill asap.Yes we should have requested to move sites but hubby didn't want to cause trouble. Definitely will ask in future as it affected the enjoyment of our stay, chair placement etc.Poor lighting in some areas.Grass not trimmed around tap area.Amenities very old & needing renovation, although always clean.Young girl at check in was very friendly & good at her job.

Carol, in the front office, was very helpful when we asked about ‘easier’ sites to get the van into (new to caravanning) and with knowledge, information and suggestions about Broken Hill and surrounds. Amenities, whilst dated, were clean, and the showers amazing (hot and great pressure). Some green grass (which when you consider the dry climate, amazing and very appealing) plus lovely views (don’t feel hemmed in). We spent 6 nights there and would suggest it to other travellers going to Broken Hill as a place to stay! There is much to do, so a minimum of 3 - 4 nights would be best.

We stayed for a week to look around the city and Silverton. Very happy with our grassy site across from the amenities block. Spotless showers and toilets, but will be renovated in the near future. Large showers, abundant hot water. Friendly staff. Washing machines a bit pricey. Would stay again.

We stayed in a budget cabin, cost $105 a night. Only worth $70, clean and tidy but ceiling was water stained and bathroom floor was suss. Friendly staff.

A late booking so grateful for a bed. The reception staff were just loving and accommodating.The cabin was unclean and needed a good scrub. Old carpet and dirty lounge we didn't want to sit on.

Easy access. Great location for exploring the area and surrounds including Silverton. Large Lush green sites and beautiful pool to cool down in. Not all sites are level, but owners are still working on the park after acquiring it recently

The park reception was easy and friendly for our book in. The facilities were excellent - being clean and functional. Entry to the park was well sign posted, and made it easy to find.The location was very good - quiet but still close to the town centre.We were very happy with our choice.
